The whole point of the flame tube is to contain the flame in the combustor and then mix the hot air with the cool air that flows around it, so your turbine wheel dosen't overheat, either you don't have a flame tube or it's just hopeless, sorry to say but this jet is not in the bests that I have seen, it just runs too hot, the turbo should not get that hot, it's verry dangerous, your lucky te turbine didn't shatter, but anyway good job for getting it to self sustain, just work on that temperatur
@1994apex Well, considering i made this turbojet, with no whatsoever help, other than the internet, for gathering info on, how and why a turbo jet works. it's also a great project and since there are very few diesel fuel driven ones that have a electronic injection system.
The only reason my face isn't burned, is because i know it's dangerus and it could easily get very bad.
But i'm educated of this project and i'm going to make a better burning chamber instead of an exhaust muffler :P
@Klause5425 hehe, no, its a turbo jet, but the reason for the pulse (puffing) is that my home made injector controller is operating at 46Hz and has not been changed yet, so the two injectors are injecting at the same time, in a pulse, and not overlaying each other's injection.
It is a problem right now, because the turbo can not idle. only almost full and full throttle
@Klause5425 No its a Turbo jet, But the reason for the Pulse (puffing) is my injector controller, It's runnig at 46Hz and is not made to overlap the two injectors so that one injector is always injecting. They are just paralell connected and so the turbo can not idle, is very hard to start and puffing alot. but i'll post another video, when i have corrected it. But the project is not something i do daily, so it may be a while before the next vid.
WOW IT REALLY DOES HAVE TO GET RED HOT BEFORE IT WILL RUN ON ITS OWN. BUT GOOD JOB IMA BUILD ONE SOMEDAY. CAN U MAKE A VIDEO SHOWING HOW TO GET THE PARTS FOR ONE AND WHERE TO GET EM.
@sslayer0117 Yeah, i'm having problems rev'ing it up, because of a low oil temp/too high viscosity.
But that will be fixed in my next video.
Well, the parts you kinda have to scour around to find. especially for a freebee Turbo. Else you can buy one at a car chopshop or truck auto shop.
The rest of the parts are just stuff i found. like injectors from a crashed BMW E39 525i and a old ass BMW E30 something. fuel pump wich was about to be thrown away, worked great as my 5 bar oil pressure pump.
@sslayer0117 so it can actually be cheap to make your own turbo jet engine, if you're lucky :) Else you'll end up with a busted ass 300hp truck turbo like me, but it's fun to get it running, and it will be fun to reduce the waight, so i can mount it on something that rolls :P
looks like you have the same problem as my engine. you have to get the engine hot before it will spool up. for me its getting the oil hot enough not to slow the turbo down too much. but hey you got a jet running! good work!
Nú havi eg verið uppi á Tekniska Skúla og vitað um eg finni ein verkfrøðing at hjálpa mær at gera mær eitt forbrennings kamar, sum eg havi teknað, sum er inspirerað av einum oljufýri, so eg bæði fái minkað um vandan við samanbrenning og at fáa minkað um støddina av forbrennings kamarinum :)

@scool63 Yeah i think that's my problem too. I'm thinking of installing some kind of oil heater with a PTC resistor installed, that should fix it.
But i'm also going to make a new burning chamber, since i think i have reached the limit of it's temprature hehe :)
it has already ripped a little before :P
