  • @Bearographer You are right for (TOS) Kirk's Enterprise, but it hasn't been discussed onscreen-- in a few novels and ref books.

The ENT-D and -E were designed/built at Utopia Planitia, in Mars orbit.

    You're welcome. :)

  • @xeractus

    besides, nemesis killed data...

  • The worst thing of Star Trek Xi was the enterprise construct on ground, and this footage did the same. A better Ship, but I still don´t like

  • As much as I didn't like the new movie, I don't think a new TNG movie would cut it. We need a next, next generation (no, not JJ Abrams idea of a raped Star Trek). We need a new cast, a new ship, and a completely new and original adventure.

  • They need to make a TNG movie with Q in it. Not the one from Voyager but the one from TNG.

  • @smcneal057 There both the same guy

  • @killakadafi77

I know that my point is that Q should be the way he was in TNG. When Q was in Voyager he was a weak character.

  • @smcneal057 okay, i agree, hes only in one ds9 episode and 3 voyagers

  • I don't get it..........

  • one problem i found with the new movie i saw was that after the timeline of the nx class the ship's were built in space ship yards not on the planet but other then that i liked the movies all of them and i happend to be the captian of the NCC 1701-E U.S.S ENTERPRISE on facebook

  • The Enterprise shouldn't be built on earth...

  • lol, not bad.

But i would wish for an enterpriseC TV-show

  • what was the point?

  • I have to agree his art director should be killed. It's alot like a parody already. The bridge design, the comm, phaser and everything, and the sets on the ship were horrendous!

  • So... you want a movie with the C.P.P. Kickstart as the main ship? Got to admit, that'd be pretty funny.

  • As a long devoted Trekkie, let me say that I had absolutely no problem with this movie, and that there is nothing to compare Kirk with Anakin Skywalker with. Especially since this Kirk can act and isn't some mama's boy like Anakin.

  • I think Abrams did a great job, the only thing I didn't like, was that the villain in the movie, was the same villain that killed Kirk's father, I thought Nero destroying the Kelvin and also facing off against Kirk, was too closely related for one film. Sure have a drastic event kill his dad, but not the same villain that this one movie is about. i thought that was corny, other than that, I enjoyed the movie.

  • My thought's on the New Trek.

I Liked it, I was always a huge fan of TOS. But I believe the New movie wasn't as good as The Original Series.

  • they need to make a damn movie based on Enterprise, Captain Archer was badass

  • @lgmmrm : now THAT i would like to see

  • They were supposed to have made 1 more TNG film to end their journey, but was cancelled.. I didn't really like star trek 11 due to bad casting and the bridge of the enterprise look out of place.

  • @mikesway23 I didn`t like it because the last TNG movie just plian sucked.

  • Im sorry to ask but are you fucking retarded the new Star Trek movie was the most succesful one yet, and you think that piece of shit is better, for one thing the Ent -E would have been launched in SPACE, not Earth

  • This is from Star Wreck (CPP Potkustart = Kickstart) tho... how sad is it when PARODY on star trek is better than Star Trek itself?!

  • you're right, another Enterprise-E movie would have been great!

  • this film was cool

  • This comment board has cynical written all over it. ;)

  • Someone could use their digital mastery to make a similar trailer, but instead of the AR (Alternate Reality) Enterprise in said trailer, it would be the PU (Prime Universe) Prometheus-class Enterprise-F.

  • But overall Did you like the new movie?

  • ghey

  • which star trek episode is the clip of the ship taking off

  • it is from the parody star wreck: in the pirkinning

  • This star trek seems like it's star trek 90210. I am still looking forward to watching it, but I have low expectations. I hope its sci-fi, and I hope it's not the cliche hero/villain plot. Gawd, I hate those.

  • The hero/villain plot could not have been more cliche and generic, so you won't be impressed in that aspect. If you're a ST fan you will get a few rewards in the form of nostalgic one-liners and mannerisms, but all in all it is a marginal film IMO. I didn't walk away impressed or disappointed. Then again I don't go into the theatre with very high expectations these days, so I'm rarely disappointed. I don't expect much from Hollywood anymore.

  • "I am afraid, the new movie will just be another action-Mainstream Film. Star Trek was never really Mainstream, and always had its own Philisophy and Ideals."

Absolutely right. That's why I think it doesn't survive translation. The best of TNG was cerebral and abstract and experimenting. You translate it to the big screen, and enemies become black/white, characters become heroes and villains, technical matters are ignored, everything that doesn't reflect modern expecations is removed, etc.

  • experimenting, with what, evolution??!

if you REALLY think about STXI, you'd see that it does exactly what Q wanted picard to do @ the end of "all good things...": explore the possibilities of existence.

  • what part of the next degeneration was ever cerebral...

I mean really. It ruined star trek.

It's Kirk or nothing. Thank-Q they didn't make a next degeneration film. Thank-Q!

  • I think you're protesting the fact that the new film isn't TNG, right? Well i know prequels are old hat, but the TNG cast can't go on doing it forever, just like the TOS cast didn't. Let it go.

  • thats why STXI did so much better than TNG: because in real life, sitting down and acting like jean-luc picard rarely happens and is not realistic. (ex. big 3 at yalta; roosevelt basically gave stalin permission to keep what countries he took from germany. ex. obama w/ US economy crisis).

sometimes, and i know that you trekkies refuse to admit it, but you just have to take action on certain issues (ex. patton)

  • Star Trek XI wasn't even in the same BALLAPARK as ST: TNG. You forget that in the 24th century nobody cares about starting shit with each other, and that sort of thing would happen quite a lot more than you action buffs would like to think.

  • no, seriously. i speak from experience. 9 times out of 10, you don't have time to sit down and talk things through until you reach a conclusion. most of the time, you're thrown into a situation with absolutely no training or help and you have to sink or swim.

TNG ignores that, saying that there's always time to talk it through. well, in real life, that rarely gets anywhere. because while one man talks, another man is seizing the day and doing things.

  • in the 21st century, yes :)) who know's how it will be in the 24th, if we ever get there...

  • personally, i don't think we'll ever get that far. either an economic disaster will happen (and everyone will blame it on GWB), or the atheists/evolutionists will declare war on religion (christianity in particular) and global nuclear war will annihilate us all

  • or religion on the "non-belivers", that's how it happened in the past... but who knows... i hope i will not see it happen

  • oh grow up! catholics aren't the only ones who love killing people!

  • you are right, humans in general love that :))

  • atheists do it just as much

  • Aren't you the hopefull one :P

  • But god will save us!

Sorry it had to be said...

  • For some reason that reminds me of a quote from Charles H. Duell, He was the director of the US Patent Office. !n 1899, he said, "Everything that can be invented has been invented." We see how right he was. lol

  • Well, except one's not dealing with 'men' in Trek, so thinking human all the time then won't work.

  • @xeractus As much as I agree with you, why don't make post TNG? Picard can be at the maiden voyage of the enterprise F ( I know there isn't an F but it's they built, i'm getting sick of the sovereign class)

  • lukeg is jelles

  • good point, i suppose. however, the last TOS movie was in 1996 and was a success. The last TNG movie bombed, DS9 has gone to novels, and VOY isn't worth the film its filmed on. TOS is what people think of when they think Star Trek. Kirk and Spock, all that jazz.

  • They should hire you, Fire Abrams, scrap the Pseudo Star Trek 11 and have you re-make Star Trek 11 with the Enterprise as seen in your film.

  • I am afraid, the new movie will just be another action-Mainstream Film. Star Trek was never really Mainstream, and always had its own Philisophy and Ideals. One of these is for example the Attempt to keep the Universe believable by respecting Things done before, this is the so called "Canon". This is one of the Tings, that made ST special. But now, beginning with Nemesis, The greedy Paramount and Frieds care a shit about these things, they only care for the Mainstream to make the biggest profit.

  • I AGREE!

  • meh.

TNG had its day. you'll have to be happy with 21 seasons of TV and 4 movies. thats more than enough.

  • lol no.

  • My last comment was in Reply to JAHAD007... I don't know why it didn't post properly.

Anyway, this video was pretty good. :-)

  • Too true. This is what I was expecting!

  • Great vid i used to be a star trek fan until episodes became predictable....sorry..anyway i think they should have stuck with TNG or at least tell a story involving Benjamin Sisko or Kathryn Kaneway..just a suggestion

  • Sadly, Michael Dorn (Worf) decided that he would not do any more Star Trek films after Nemesis so that's why it ended in such a final manner; they knew no more were forthcoming for TNG. Since he was in DS9 also it rather diminishes the possibility of a movie there, too.

I'd like to see something with Janeway, though. That'd be epic!

  • "Michael Dorn (Worf) decided that he would not do any more Star Trek films "

i find that hard to believe. michael dorn was the biggest trekkie of the TNG cast and was very into his character development. and since i can't find any quites on memory-alpha or google...

    ...where did you hear this?

  • Haven't seen him do much since....he'll be back

  • Actually if you read the book series started with Flag Full of Stars the san fransisco shipyard is actually ON earth. So that part is acurate. As for this movie being to die hardish, in a way im looking forward to it. Perhaps what star trek needs is a fresh outlook. Abrams has said from the begining this movie is NOT being made for Die Hard trek fans. But for a whole new fanbase that has never watched a trek episode. I am a HUGE trek fan, but i am DEFINETLY looking forward to this movie.

  • Wow fucking Sweet

  • for star trek nemisis when the trailer was relesed evryone was going wild puting on trek costumes on geting exited and what about now hm? nothing but haters star trek is being KILLED star trek is ment to be about finding new life and not shoot to kill, james bond is another matter i am not to pleased with the things like leaveing out the gun barrel sean but i think thay will put it back so not realy a huge bitch fit about that but siriosly, startrek is runed.

    call it die hard:trek edition

  • Dude... get over it. It's a re-imagined alternate universe of the original and it will succeed or fail on it's own merits. As for TNG... maybe they'll re-imagine that one day too. In the meantime, watch all the reruns you want. I for one, want some new adventures.

  • I think that was much better... this should be the real one.

  • baaaaah

  • Also the idea of making a starship on the planet is fuckin stupid.

  • Sadly I think you're right, though I hope you're wrong. Star Ships are built at utopia planitia in orbit of earth. How can a star ship (particuarly of that era) avoid collapsing in earth's gravity? How could it get into orbit without tearing itself apart? Yes, Voyager could land on planets but thats a more advanced time, and Voyager isnt that big anyway.

  • Or is it mars?

  • Utopia Planitia yards are actualy in orbit around Mars not Earth. San Francisco Fleet Yards were in orbit around Earth. It would be much simpler to build Ships in orbit and float parts into place, for one contamination of gases and dirt isnt a problem in orbit, You could build parts on Mars and moved them into orbit easyier than Earth as the gravity on Mars is 0.35gs. Voyager is roughly the same length and breath as the 1701 but is a much higher tonnage

  • I guess none of you have watched TOS episode where the Enterprise, inside Earth's atmosphere, was attacked by the Air Force fighter pilot who had to be beamed aboard and later returned to his own time because his son was gonna lead the first manned misson to Saturn in the future. the Enterprise was in Earth's atmosphere close enough for a 1960's fighter plane to attack it.

  • "they solved baldness in the 24th Century"

WOW thats sad... i mean How? the Fuck can you know that!?!

    jeezz.....

and he must want hair othewixe he'd shave off that weird bit round the edge of his head...

  • Well done.

  • "Kirk is just another whiny Anakin Skywalker"

Booo he's better than Picard! at least he has hair!

  • They solved baldness in the 24th century, picard just have dignity, charisma, charm, and pure fuckin testosterone that he doesn't want nor need hair.

  • Star Trek movies started really sucking after Star trek II. What makes you think another will be any different?

I've seen better episodes of star trek then the STTNG movies.

  • wow how did you do this effect of the Enterprise-E

  • THERE IS MOTHERFUCKIN' ***JFK***

    ON THE MOTHERFUCKIN' STARSHIP!!!

    **AND** John Glenn!!

    **AND** Neil Armstrong!!

    THAT IS FUCKING AWE-INSPIRING

    AND YOU GUYS *MISSED* IT!!

  • My comments on Star Trek XI:

I have had enough of JJ Abrams his trash talk about future Star Trek fans. The man is an absolute a**h***and has no business even coming near Star Trek. Who is the clueless genius that allowed this punk to take over the Trek franchise and proceed to f*** it up like this?

Kirk is just another whiny Anakin Skywalker, that 'ship' is a futuristic TMP abomination, and that bridge is Galaxy Quest II.

  • You're dead on Chris. The trailer that has recently been released made me cringe. Personally I'd be happy with the first ten films and leave the project as is. It's as bad as Buffy the Vampire Slayer season 8 comics where they have Buffy's sister transforming from a normal human, to a giant, to a centaur. Like that, the New Star Trek film looks like crap. JJ should stick to Cloverfield and Lost and leave Star Trek alone.

Gene Roddenberry must be spinning in his grave.

  • I have to agree! I just wanted to have a real trek movie...JJ Abrams fucks up! Great trailer.

  • @ChrisJonesMods Hear Hear! The new Star Trek is shit.

  • Um ships are made in orbit? wtf

  • not always.

  • no they are always, especially that class of ships.

  • No, thanks.

  • It's not crap. Your statement is crap.

  • @ChrisJonesMods your mom's statement is crap. and she goes to college. and stuff. sheesh.

  • @racybr JJ Abrams' "Star Trek: Dumbass" IS crap! You're out numbered, you stupid little asshole, so get the hell over it!

  • @CaptainSuperGuy jeez what grade are you in? you must be some little 13 year old who thinks he's a tough guy playing call of duty or something. anyway kid, i never said JarJar-Trek was superior. but to be sure that b&b franchise crap gutted Trek. so to sum up: "get a life!"

  • Only thing wrong with "Nemesis" was it's length. Didn't they aim for a really cool story with edge? A battle against another cloaked ship is nice. But make it longer. Bring some D'deridex class warbirds into help..and watch 'em all get fragged by the new one. All the while the Enterprise limping away to the border where the Federation ships now await.

15 minutes of space-fighting onscreen, watchin them all do shit we've never seen since the battle of DS9, all against 1 vastly kick-ass ship.

  • (cont.) Watch her tear through Fed ships; 359 all over again. She could use a smaller version of that rad-gun she turned into. Then have Remans beaming onto Fed ships, taking over & wuh oh, who is the bad guy now? Then you got Fed ships turning off eachother shields only to have the Scimitar vape them anyway. Less fed ships, better course for Earth. Maybe it ends with a pseudo-mutiny on board, or it cliff-hangs. Only to be sequeled with the end of that space-battle/more.

    Pity I didn't write it.

  • Such fanwankery is exactly what the series needs least of all. Feel free to hang your head in shame

  • Fanwankery? Mental masturbation?

So...having a keen interest in a fandom will not get me hired on as a writer?

My enthusiasm doesn't count for anything? Or was it over-extended for a medium such as this?

I must remind you of trekkies & trekkers you see at shows eh?

They hired a fan to write that new POS posing as STAR TREK; he was just a fan of STAR WARS. They almost got it right.

Other fans write for work. Like Joss Whedon, his favorite ship, if I'm not wrong, is the Millennium Falcon.

  • I'm actually not a fan of huge battle scenes. Its harder to see and feel the struggle. There is more carnage, less drama, and the whole thing feels like less of a chess match between masters. I'd prefer seeing Kirk and Khan duke it out, to seeing all of starfleet take on every last romulan in the entire quadrant.

  • I already said this another video but romulans last encountered humans before kirk was in starfleet, and since then starfleet has had no contact until one of the episodes in the original series. How they intend to put in an antagonist they can not see or even identify will require either some good work (not to be seen from abrahms) or just ignoring that and fucking all the star trek fans for the sake of a rehashed villian

  • The reason being is that Nero the romulan traveled back in time to kill Kirk and old Spock to save him. And as for the movie as a whole it's a reboot of the entire franchise a re-imagining if you will.

  • This is just one person but that sounds gay. If anything holds proven, it is that modern reimagings of great ideas that were done decades ago suck. Movies (and tv) in general these days suck and not like the movies decades ago. So why pull great works into this maelstrom of suck that is today? Must be really out of ideas; pissing me off.

  • Ya for the most part your right but you also have to put into consideration movies like batman begins which in my eyes is the best batman movie ever well next to the dark knight of course, Who knows it might just suck or it might just make a lot of ppl eat their words and be the best trek ever. I guess we will just have to wait and see.

  • Well actually the new batman movies suck, but I suppose you do not know batman very well. Movies like batman are judged by the masses of people who are not familiar with the original material and who also just have poor taste these days. That had to be the worse joker I ever fuckin seen; i suppose when they say,"reimagine" its a trick word for "not care about the fuckin source material" But hey Lucas did it for star wars, why not allow it for everything else :/

  • Wow everything sucks as far as your concerned for starters you are only like 20 I have a good 10 years on you. And as for me not knowing batman at all you are even more clueless then I had originally thought.

  • I've been reading comics since I was a kid which was long before you were even born. And if you even know anything about the source material for the dark knight movie you would know that it was based on the Dark Knight graphic novel which is considered by most the greatest graphic novel of all time second only to Watchmen.

  • Now maybe you should get your facts straight before you start running your mouth junior.

I would like to leave you with something to think about "A closed mouth gathers no foot" keep your negative comments to your self.

  • You can keep your lack of critical-thinking rhetoric and your idioms to yourself. I am also sick and tired of hearing about graphic novels; they are fuckin comic books with a binding. The jokers makeup was all wrong, he never was funny or cracked a joke, and the person that played him looked nothing like the joker. He had none of the class that separates the joker from other villains; they should have just called him "The Clown" because he certainly wasn't joking around or clever.

  • Wow. Really? So you like Joel Schumacher campyness and bad Arnold acting? To each his own..

  • yeah, batman and robin was total shit...clooney even apologised for being so crap

  • lol....Oh shit.....Galaxy Quest. hah

It looks good....almost too good. But that's just looks.

If they stray one iota from the origin, (which I've heard they are and have done, by now.) then I'm walking out of the theater, with or without my friends...I'll wait in the lobby.

It'll be like Trashformers all over again.

  • Star Trek Nemesis pretty much finished off the TNG cast. It was a bad Wrath of Kahn wanna-be. After that film there was no shot at getting a mass audience to buy into another sequel and none of the other Trek series had a big enough following to justify a movie.

I wasn't a huge fan of "Rebooting" the Trek franchise, but when they brought in J.J. Abrams to do it I had faith. I'm pissed they pushed the film off until next Summer, but I'll be there when it opens.

  • IDK man..I dig some of Abrams stuff but a lot of it I don't. I just hope he doesn't take any liberties with this film. It's fine to update it, after all TOS was the 60s version of the future, but don't change anything radically.

  • Yer they should use enterprise E or another new searise like voayger in a film. i hat that they are recreating TOS as a film.

  • A TNG sequel would be best. No one can replace the actors for TOS.

  • The closest thing to another Trek prequel that I'd ever really want to see is an adventure starring Captain Sulu and the Starship Excelsior!

  • I AGREE I LOVE EXELSIOR LOL

  • I agree too how cool would that be

and ive heard george takei would be up for it!!

  • nice

but erm... u appear to have forgotten as the enterprise e is a sovereign class star ship unlike the intrepid class (ie voyager) it is incapable of atmospheric flight despite what some books may try to have us believe

  • well you'll have to take that up with the guys he got the footage from. Star Wreck, the Pirkinning

  • I'm sure a ship designed to handle ion storms could handle a bit of atmospheric pressure on a slow trip out into space. Not designed for atmospheric flight and incapable of it are two different things.

  • It doesn't exist. So it cannot be capable or incapable of anything. It isn't there.

  • LOL!!! Awesome!!! -that how it should have been!!! I want TNG back!!! I want the Enterprise-E back!!! I want Picard back!!!

  • Wasn't happy about no11 not being TNG.

    Nice vid guys

  • Paramount deserve a spoon so they can eat my ass!

  • the official trailer is a TEASER trailer

so theres gona be a other

  • oh shit now thats what im talkin about

the E went before her time

and wildly over the top books and badly rushed games dont cut it

they should have done at least 5 tng films

nice trailer it was a pleasure

  • this is partly from the star wrek movie but coll anyway

  • The movie could be a mirror universe story. In the Enterprise Episodes it never shows the mirror enterprise being constructed in space.

  • Although I don't like TNG, your trailer is beautiful, a great trubute to the 1701-E!

  • yes, well done.

Picard and crew STILL deserve a good send-off movie!

  • "Star Trek: Nemesis" really dropped the ball. It didn't give enough closure to the story of the crew of the Enterprise-D&E.

  • No. The series finale of TNG did.

  • And then they spoiled that with Generations ,if only paramount/viacom had only done a Voyager with the elements of DS9 .

  • I think what pissed me off about VOY the most was the fact that the overall plot of "returning home" always got pushed back to make room for bogus techno blabble and "upholding the damn Prime Directive" storylines. They didn't stress the danger of being so far away from home as much as i would have preferred. It was always like "we're in big trouble here, being 70,000 lightyears from home we really should be getting back-ohhhh LOOK! a NEBULAE! Let's INVESTIGATE!"

  • Right on! You hit right on the nail!

  • Glad to know I'm not the only one out there who thinks that. Haha

  • But the transwarp inertial sequencers are out of alignment with the hyperdementional sub outlet micro conversion processors!!! VOY always annoyed me that no matter what the problem was, it was solved by a 2 minute explanation of something that should have been realized right away (as far as they were concerned).

  • Awesome, cheers mate, i knew someone would know the exact episode

  • What exactly is it that JJ Abrams et al. have "blissfully ignored?"

  • That's what I'm wondering, I think the creator of this video has blissfully ignored something along the lines of "It's a new Prequel movie"...

  • I don't get why Trek fans don't like the movies which are character driven stories? Haven't we learned by now that Star Trek is about telling "morality plays in the future" -- Gene Roddenberry. It seems all they want is action oriented stories with no sense or drama.

  • wrong enterprise

  • ........star wreck!!! XD

  • It was on mars. It was buing built on Utopia Planitia's Planet Yards

  • I have recolections of a scene in an episode that shows a Galaxy class under construction on a planet. Looked like possibly Mars

  • You're correct, that was in the TNG season 7 episode "Parallels."

  • dude chris this is exactly what it should have been! not sure why you chose the sovereign considering its already flying around somewhere but it still looked bloody cool

  • people just wait for 11 months

    than we will talk

  • the thing i dont understand is i thought the enterprise A was built in space and not on the fucking ground like it showed in the teaser which is fucking stupid jj abrams should of just went ahead and made a sequel to cloverfield instead of fucking up gene roddenburys vision of star trek. its a descecration of a classic that the fans helped turn into an icon and he goes and wrecks it. its like fucking with starwars episode 4,5 and 6 which would be calling for a public execution this is a disgrace

  • I think you wrong at assuming that all the Enterprises' were built in space. They were CONSTRUCTED on the surface, and assembled in Space, thats why the Enterprise Plaque says "U.S.S Enterprise, Constitution Class, San Francisco" as it was bult there but not assembled there.

  • It was built at San Francisco fleet yards in synchronis orbit above San Francisco.

  • Hey dumb ass Enterprise A was built in space, Star Trek XI is about the ORIGINAL Enterprise

  • All ships were built in space from the nx-01 enterprise era forward

  • This isn't the Enterprise nor Star Trek.

The reason of the upcoming film is to fill the missing gaps between Kirk's time and the Romulan War. The Romulan War was suppose to happen post ENT

  • Correction. Star Trek XI is Kirk era, its just pre TOS, when the Enterprise was first comissioned. But you might be right in assuming the film will fill in the missing parts after ENT.

  • The only reason they are doing a Star Trek in the past is because some schmuck of a director wants to basically rewrite Star Trek history to his own liking, and Paramount singed off on it just for the money.

  • You're right about Paramount and money however I believe that Abrams wants to save Star Trek

  • Let's pray this film can... something has to bring the original Trek spirit back, and it sure hasn't been the last set of movies (and lets not even mention Enterprise the show....)

  • So when exactly did the SW spirit leave?

    Define 'last set of movies'.

  • Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!

  • Hehe !! Sweet !!

  • As it should be..

TOS needs to stay in the past and on Star trek: Enhanced. Forever. Star Trek XI should be in the future, post Nemesis.
