THis was really helpful - now I can see why some of it was so hard for me; my sheetmusic has extra notes in it! If I follow your version its so much easier and I don't think it detracts from the sound.

what andresvilsa means with the right hand is that originally he plays sixhts (not sure its called that) at the same time as the eights (not sure its called that either, but hopefully you understand me). the right hand is correct notewise, it's just the pattern in the first that's wrong. did you this be ear? i could mail you the sheet if you want

there is another version of the sheet music out there that is in GIF format. I don't believe this is the correct version of the sheet music. I'm listening to yann tiersen playng the song, and I don't believe the left hand at the beginning has any two-note-chords. if you listen to the left hand only, it is clearly a continuous stream of eigth-notes and not quarter notes with a chord.
