  • he uses the vinyl record to kill the harshness of the snare (probably) - the snare is very hard on the ears up close.

  • @tsunchoo I'm pretty sure he uses it for its effect. I've seen him use various objects to make his snare sound different.

  • German cymbals, German drums, and American sticks. See, countries can coincide.

  • I guess I know what I'll be doing with my Dick Clark record.

  • What are your cymbals? They are aesthetically pleasing and sonically orgasmic.

  • @mashafasha5 They are Benny's signature cymbals from Mienl. Search "Benny Greb Mienl Sand Cymbals" and you should get great results. I'm pretty sure that there is a video you can where he talks about gear, as there are a few things that aren't his signature. I think he uses an extra dry crash from mienl, and a byzance traditional crash from meinl.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX This is before the Sand Ride and Sand Hats came out. These are Meinl extra dry's

  • @jonnydrums413 Oh, my bad. Now that I look, I can tell that these are darker and dryer than the vintage series cymbals. Thanks for pointing that out.

  • I did this with a crappy old vinyl I got for free and it broke within 10 mins :D

  • to bad its only 24 seconds

  • This beat is awesome! But I have no Vinyls that I would kill for drumming...

  • @MusicianSmile Try using a splash cymbal on your snare, it gives a similar effect.

  • @MusicianSmile Except 'Sports' by Huey Lewis.

  • That is the phattest groove I've ever heard ever!

  • Vinyl drumhead rocks!
