They are different yes, but when you go to a concert do you want the opening bands to be cover bands of the band you are seeing? No, you want variety, now H.I.M. isn't goth or German but their older songs are great, Venus Doom is ok, not their best work. They may or may not go together but it's whatever it sounded like a good idea to me when I was fucking stoned out of my head. It's all hypothetical.

Actually, no I don't want a cover band. At Diary of Dreams concerts I expect more than just "goth" I expect an industrial band to be supporting act, to be honest.
