Lee Child's books are very well written, but in the interests of a mass-market in the USA, they are edited extensively. Unlike Jack Higgins, they are 'dumbed-down' for the American market, and the American expressions are sometimes jarring. I'm sure the publishers think this is seamless, but Child's writing is actually much better than the US versions suggest.

I am a great fan of Lee Child Books, and Jack Reacher is a unique character like John Smiley.

Lee Child has come up with this unique character unlike any that we have ever known. I have read all his books and he is fantastic.

Lee Child is the best Thriller writer. His work has even inspired my Year 4 class to learn about how a character creates the plot- well done Lee.
