@picklevai16 It was around this time(when the album was recorded) that labrie had suffered a severe case of food poisioning that ruptured his vocal chords and took him almost 10 years fully recover. That's why he sounds off key.

this is such a sweet (in both ways) song. it reminds me of a best friend of mine who has a boyfriend who means everything to her. she's shy and sweet, he's more outgoing and well-known, just like the song's characters. if they ever end, when (or if) that day comes, i will recommend this song to her if she feels sad.

i think it's about two people who break their relationship because they cant carry it anymore (written 1:1 in the text), feel down and possibly meet each other, which is the beginning of the end of their hollow years (my interpretation).

btw. great song, the live at budokan version has an awesome solo, but i still prefer this one because of the more dreamlike atmosphere. truly a piece out of the dream theater.

This album actually is better when you think about how much DT got ripped off on it. They weren't allowed to release the album the way they wanted, the cover designer refused to design the album the way they wanted, and the studio had someone rewrite one the songs on it. Even after all that it still sounds pretty good.
