Ok I know this is probably late and many people probably already figured it out.

But you can unlock the arcane warrior class with any class but only the Mage can become the arcane warrior.

No, it has it's own set of skills.

An arcane warrior can be built to fight like a warrior, but will never have the same attacks that a warrior has access to.

You have to be a mage to be able to become an arcane warrior.

However, even if you're playing a warrior or rogue, you can still unlock the specialization for Morrigan or Wynne.

does anyone know how to get the Juggernaut available to wear with 38 Magic instead of 38 Strength. I've seen it with 38 Magic and I am wondering if it's only a PC thing. I am playing on PS3 so I am curious. If someone could give me an answer it would be much appreciated.

Just have to be an arcane warrior.

They get a spell called Combat Magic (first one they get)..... even if it's not active it changes all your str requirements to magic requirements for armor/weapons.

thats the funny thing. I took the vial to the alter got all the memories and set it down where the vial was then destroyed. Only, no Arcane warrior abilities. I am only lvl 9 and have not yet mastered the Arcane techniques. I didn't know if that had anything to do with it. But nonetheless, nothing different happened with my character... :( Any ideas, I appreciate the first response by the way.

Did you choose it as your charcters spec. when you leveled up?

At lvl 7 & lvl 14 you'll get a spec. point, but you have to actually use it when you level up to have the arcane warrior skills unlocked for that character...... otherwise you just unlocked AW, but haven't actually given it to your character to use.

quick tip: once you unlock a skill like blood mage or arcane warrior, save, then go back to a previos save befor getting blood mage, ect. and it will be open. Useful when getting blood mage. Press it, save, then go back to save befor talking to demon. Then you have blood mage and you can choose somthing else like a skill book. Np Guys =P (Make it a good comment)

Alright, so I unlocked Arcane Warrior, but I turned off the console and now I don't have it and it won't let me do the sequence. It says that I don't have it unlocked. I saved, but it still says I can't choose it. It's done the same for Shapeshifting. I'm on the 360, anyone know what's wrong?

Bioware released a patch on the 360 that screws your specializations by locking them every time you turn off the console. Microsoft have pulled the update so Clearing your cache should remove the bug.

unfortunately you'll have to relearn all your specializations.

Blood Mage + Arcane Warrior is without any doubt the strongest build in the game. You boil blood like a maniac and have a sick crowd control with BM and the Arcane Warrior spec. makes you virtually invincible. =P

I wouldn`t recomend the shapeshifter arcane warrior.....One usually nullifies the other....if you shapeshift you can`t use the arcane warrior abilities,and without shapeshifting that class is useless other than the constitution boost...

Since you already used the specialization on shapeshifter i would recommend the other one to go on spirit healer,cuz thats the only one that works good with a shapeshifter....but thats just my opinion :)

Shapeshifting doesnt use Magic for damage it uses Strength so AW/SS actually does well as its hard to kill but its pretty boring

Nothing happens until you choose to specialize in it when you level up a character. You unlock one at 7, and if you didn't choose that one yet, you can choose it at your next lvl up.

You need to change her combat tactics. If shes healer spec, open combat tactics and choose healer ... and on the right side for behavior choose ranged. If you edit one to say .. enemy -> target of : Main Character -- Attack

She will stay Range and Heal , and only do basic attack unless you literally issue a command for something else.

I strongly suggest you become a arcane warrior with the mastery of arcane cuz you wear heavy armor and with the combat magic talent thing like your magic supports your strength attribute and it adds to your damage and with arcane mastery you have the arcane shield obviously and with that your practicly unstoppable to almost anything and you kick ass lol

You don't need to put anything into str or dex to make an effective melee mage... in fact you can keep magic & willpower to a minimum also, allowing you to dump almost everything into CON.

Set her to passive to stop her from hitting anything you don't want her to.

If she's on anything else, she might attack enemies.. passive is the only one that guarantees she will only attack if you command her to, or if it's in her tactics.

If you focus on their defenses they can make awesome tanks. Arcane Warrior & Mage have some very good defensive buffs.

Lol im a arcane warrior subclass and shapeshifter as a mage and so far it helps a hella lot if you know whats your doing. and i do 75% of the damage contributation of the party thing i kick ass lol and i killed the high dragon at the adraste temple it was kinda easy if you just cast a hell of a lot of lightning spells and have the healer from the circle of magi with you other than that you could prob kill a dragon with just you and wynne da spirit healer lol

there for when i discovered reaver was crap i decided to have templar and champion as my two sub-classes both with all 4 skills mastered champoin to be evenmore skilled in combat and templar skills combined with the juggernaut armour complet set to = a skillful melee warrior who also excels at fighting magical opponents in my book sound like the ultimate warrior

@gh3rockzzV2 Reaver kind of sucks, especially if you got Warden's Keep DLC. Champion maxed out is great with the AoE knockdown effect. Especially if you have a rouge in your party to do a few crit strikes while they're down.

Berserker can be learned from Oghren or bought in Denerim from the dwarven merchant, Templar can be learned from Alistair or bought from the merchant at camp, Reaver can be learned from the Cult of Andraste during the quest to get the Urn of Sacred Ashes, and Champion can be learned from curing Arl Eamon of Redcliffe

I can't believe you're in nightmare. You would have died within seconds in hard so nightmare is either bugged or you cheat or you lie. There is no way you can take so many hits and morrigan is not doing any damage just a heal every 5 seconds I would say you're on easy lol.

nope, its nightmare. what everyone who says otherwise doesn't seem to get is the mage's defensive buffs are way better than any other classes.... and since you can do your own stats you don't have to be weaker defensively than any other class. =)

My mage can take a hefty amount of damage, because everything is geared towards survival.... I have the bare minimum magic to wear what I need, and just enough willpower to cast what I need....... everything else goes towards keeping me alive.

I'm up to 16 now, and my mage has HP, armor, defense, and even melee damage that exceeds Alistair and Sten's by a landslide.

The ruins are behind the wall of fog in the forest... when you do part of the werewolf quest you get through that, just go straight down that road, can't miss it...... as far as inside the ruins, just keep going further towards the back (the ruins really only go in 1 direction)... this area is after the little dragon.
