@jejazz13 Use a flathead screwdriver. Place it at the end between the disconnect and the black part of the switch, then twist. It should pop it right off. If you need pictures, go to the SRK forums and look for my HRAP2 button mod in the tutorials post.
@TingBoy i had finally got it on the same day i posted this. You really have to put force on to it. I was too scared that i was gonna break something lol But i put in my artwork and all the buttons work perfectly fine :)
Hey can somebody help me? I got the SF4 TE madcatz fightsick, but i also have a retrocompatible "fat" ps3, and play some games for the PS2 on it, like Guilty Gear, and Capcom vs SNK 2, KOF, etc, and i dont know why but the madcatz arcade stick doesnt work when i want to play this PS2 games on my PS3, is there anything i could do to change it ot somebody know which arcade stick should i get? to play ps2 games on a retrocompatible ps3 D: SORRY BAD ENGLISH
@Quekil830 Its in the description. If you don't understand how to do it by the end of that post, then you should consider having someone do it for you. One move and you risk ruining your joystick completely
Thank you for your reply. I checked lizard lick and was able to order the translucent buttons and bubbletop stick but they didn't have any led materials for sale. Any idea where I can pick up those purple leds that you used on your stick. Thank you so much for your time.
@StatueHunter75 I just used 5mm white LEDs and put them inside the buttons. If you're serious about this mod, you'll need to drill holes through the bottom of the buttons for the legs of the LEDs to fit through
These are the exact color buttons and bubble top I want to get with the led for a modded Akuma fightstick do you have any suggestions as to where I can get the supplies to do this from? Can you send me the parts info in a reply please? Thank you. Do you know of any sites the custom mod led fightsticks for people?
@StatueHunter75 Check akihabarashop(dot)jp or lizardlick(dot)com. As for the mod, no. You'll have to find someone willing to do it for you. Check the Shoryuken(dot)com forums
Yea. They're Seimitsu clear snap-ins (PS-14-K). I got these like 4 years ago from akihabarashop(dot)jp before they got discontinued and replaced by the screw-ins (PS-14-KN)
Thanks for the quick reply. One of my friends likes the translucent look, but I couldn't find the snap-in version on lizardlick or akihabarashop so I told him he's going to have to shave the nut on the X button for his hrap3 or go with Sanwa.
showoff =] if you put metal or aluminium cylinder covers around the inside of the buttons the light would show only on the button you push making it look more proffesional but still a pretty dam great joystick
Yeah, I read through the SRK guides, examined the diagrams, looked at the soldering guide.. and determined there's no way I'd be able to do it. It's all kind of written for people who have done some modding before; I could do it if I had some serious step-by-step pictures or something, but I wouldn't want to screw up a SF4 Tournament stick by not knowing how to solder or what to put where.
The diagram of the inverter is pretty self explanatory. Resistors can be soldered on either way. The only thing you really need to worry about is the LEDs. You just need to make sure the ends match (- with -, + with +). You can look up LED on wikipedia to learn how to tell which leg is which.
Check out the other pictures in that album. They show the old, nasty wiring =P
I have a quick question for you. What Sanwa buttons should I get for the Xbox 360 stick (I assume they have the same dimensions) This would greatly help me because I am going to attempt modding my new stick when I figure all of it out.
I'm assuming you're talking about the HRAP EX (big black one), which is the same size as my stick. All you need are Sanwa OBSF-30 for main buttons and Sanwa OBSF-24 for start/select
If you mean a kit for the light up mod, not now. Too busy to do anything like that. However, you can ask around the Shoryuken forums. A member named Kaytrim used to sell them.
yea, i saw this guy resolder his reg 360 controller , when all he would have to do is get a hori and put it in a custom box. but i like the led, if u wanna do this people , goto radio shack , and go into the led bin ,and buy the colors u want , and either solder then onto the button power supply . and presto. you can do this to your reg 360 controller. i have a green light that comes on with the rumble pack. its ait. nothing bad ass though.
Umm... That's pretty freakin' misleading. Probably don't tell people to do things that you don't really understand. Check the link in TingBoy's comment if you actually want to know how to do this.
I used Seimitsu PS-14-K, but they don't make them anymore. However, they do make PS-14-KN, which are pretty much the same, except they use a nut to secure the buttons. You'll just need to drill a small hole for the LED legs to stick out of.
Good luck finding another HRAP2 for around the same price including shipping. They're discontinued, although a premodded version is coming out in April. Sold only in Japan though.

Like $25 for the clear buttons
$10 for the LEDs, switch, battery holder, and switch.
$30 for soldering iron + supplies (unless you already have one

You'll want the Sanwa GT-Y restrictor plate. If you need more info, check the tech talk section in the shoryuken (dot)com forums

Nice. Next time you should black out the plunger so the light doesn't travel to another plunger. A more focused light per button.

Its not too bad. Just a small bit of soldering and patience. Nothing really technical besides finding the parts I suppose.

So you took out the six-button layout and replaced them with clear ones to see the LED light? What kinda buttons? Sanwas?
AFernandez305 3 years ago
I used Seimitsu PS-14-K, but they don't make them anymore. However, they do make PS-14-KN, which are pretty much the same, except they use a nut to secure the buttons. You'll just need to drill a small hole for the LED legs to stick out of.
TingBoy 3 years ago
Ah I see, Seimitsu's are just as good. I never knew they made clear arcade buttons though.
AFernandez305 3 years ago
Seimitsu sticks are harder and better for other types of games. Sanwa is best for fighting games. The difference is minimal.
igotdembombs 3 years ago
Then why do they use Seimitsu LS-32 for SBO 3rd strike finals?
There is no "better." It's all preference. Go with what feels best to you.
