this isnt wangan midnight: maximum tune... its just wangan midnight... i got the game, but the turning is a lot more difficult to get used to. u dont feel safe when going at such high speeds. and drifting for me in this game right now is next to impossible.

gran turismo is just a shit load of laps around the same 10 or 15 tracks. i get bored of a racing game once it reaches more than 15 laps around a track.

Wangan though on the other hand has nice soundtrack for racing similar to tokyo drift of fast n furious soundtrack. and isn't boring like gran turismo. played from original uop to the newest version at least the demo of number 5.

i believe a "textbook" ricer game would be more of a american background with poor use of japanese cars. like nsfu. 1st: i don't see the use of nos or any indications of nos. 2nd: no useless exterior features like neon lights and stupid body kits 3rd: since when ricer games have any taste in cars? the porshe gemballa and the 280zx are way above the standards of a civic. 4th: ricer games don't affiliate themselves with anime. this series actually has a story line. unlike the stupid nfsu shit.

This game is based on a manga which has some basis in REALITY. That is something that cannot be said for Ridge Racer, Crusin' USA, Need for Speed, or even Gran Turismo (maybe the 5th one will, but you have to be a baller to afford it, and a royal dumb ass to want play it).

you should bash on Project Gotham, or Forza, those games suck....

For a Console game, Gran Turismo is still one of the best racing sims out on the market. However, PC racing sims like rFactor make GT feel very "arcadey" in comparison, now im not saying it is & by far GT aint an arcade style of driving, im jus saying there are better race sims out there, jus not for the consoles. :'(

The game is titled Wangan Midnight and has nothing to do with the arcade version Maximum Tune. You can't pick your own car from different makers freely. You pick a driver and get his\her car and can customize the bonnet, muffler and spoiler. It's far from the Arcade version, which sucks. No practicing at home for the arcade.

I'd get an XBOX 360 since it has loads of good games coming out instead of the PS3 which just has this. This game will get real old fast, (even with online) while Forza, Project Gotham, etc will not. You could play Gran Turismo but that series has sucked big time ever since the first one and #5 will charge a lot of money for every little extra. If you buy Sony products you deserve to hear this when you regret it "I told you so! ahhahah"

Yes, the PS3 games have no region coding allowing them to play on ANY PS3 system from any country. Like the PSP. Though Blu-Ray movies are locked. So example.. American game will play on Japanese system, but only Japanese Blu-Ray movie will play on the Japanese system. American machiene will play Japanese game but no Japanese Blu-Ray movie. BTW : There are plenty of Import sites,  even ebay where you can get it shipped to your door in the states. Last time I went to japan, I bought Final Fantasy XII for around 85.00 USD converted. I honestly think you'll get it cheaper online than in japan, their tax rates are so high.

i believe its not maxi tune its just the wangan midnight based on the manga... i dont know if there will be a customization feature but i doubt its gonna be like initial d from ps2 where you play as takumi instead you play as akio asakura here and mainly drive the characters' cars

Ya and the thing is the only way Sony makes money is off its games and not the system itself. So its ok.. buy a used ps3, this one game (maybe Virtua Fighter 5), play it for few months, then sell the ps3 away and keep Sony on the right track (towards getting the hell out of the game industry) so it will return to being run by real gaming companies such as Nintendo, Sega/Sammy, Namco, etc
