"We can't afford feeeeeees! Continue to pay our tuition costs for us!!" they yelled, while throwing full cans of beer at police..... Maybe don't spend your money on beer, lads?
I don't get the anger towards the police, they are only doing their jobs, alot of them proberbly have kids that want to go to uni but they need money for it so they have to do their job.
I'd like to recommend every citizen in Europe to buy helmets, sticks, and other things to fight the government/banker gangsters' puppet policemen. The governments are paid to be loyal to the banking cartel, and as long as they are, they are protected by them with their money. I fear only the army changing on people's side could end this orchestrated robbery of the populace!
I feel like an idiot to even think of the garda beating people for no reason when i saw the first video go up but of course it was lie because now seeing more different videos of it happening. it obivous that most of the people fighting are just scum..
it about time people stop letting the goverment do what they want, stupid goverment is ruinning everyone life. they want eveyone to live of the street
this is what is needed to show the government that people will not be pushed around. When it come to decision time for the government they wont care about people carrying out peaceful protests and going home nice and happy. They care about action and what the repercussions will be, if they see students willing to take the fight to them then they will think twice about raising the fees. And if this didnt show them that action will be taken then let them raise the fees and see what happens happen
this country makes me fucking sick... people will only care when it affects them. theres a corruption scandal after scandal coming out and all there is that usual "cute hoor" shit. if that happened in france or germany there would be fucking riots. instead there was mabe a few angry letters. i guarantee you fianna fail will be in power in 10-15 years... and i will be nowhere near this sorry state.
lol organized labor bosses on the take (where did that money from FAS go?) be grateful it was the kids that showed up, whole new level when it is the grown ups. In NYC when the police brought the horses in on the union building trades protest the horses and the police went down. If the police were smart (they never are and always look for a conflict they could have erected fences and stood well back rather than being up in front of a hostile mob. Police like picking on people weaker than them.
lol this is tame compared to the US. where is the tear gas sound and water cannons. Why cant people see that if u just took the bribes and corruption away u could pay for everything. Wall street buys the politicians and they in turn do Wall Street's bidding. Looks so rehearsed and theatrical (on the government's part) only problem is what do you replace a failed government system with how can u correct a human flaw of greed. This is peaceful if it was violent there would be guns.
Peaceful protest?.....bunch of retards got exactly what they deserved. I saw another video there of the Ginger Jesus lookin hippy with his head split open sayin he was just sitting around. You can clearly see him up the front at 0.36 right up the front as missiles are being fired at the Gardai - if that isn't asking for it I dont know what is.
Those students got what they deserved the bunch of slack jawed thugs. They are a minority and hardly represent myself. Damaging government departments with stones and eggs is rarely leads to calm as can be clearly seen here in this clip. Then causing a heavy presence of off duty Gardai to be called in is only going to add to the recession, overtime is crazy money. God bless the Gardai. Grr socialism and all that malarky.
The violence advances the point no doubt. Police brutality is nothing new pigs are fucking cowards. Its always starts with people pelting the pigs with missiles from afar and then the pigs start beating those directly in front of them. There's one clips where a pig raises his baton poised to strike as a mother and child try to get away!
@nictophobia1 That's how police are trained to hold a baton once it is extended. it's the safest way to carry it. it's not a strike poise. he's just carrying it how he was trained.
whats the point, the french economy lost over 3 billion in three weeks of rioting and strikes, the greeks brought the country to a standstill, 6 innocent bank staff were murdered when the rabble decided to turn on a bank and for what, nothing,
The changes to the retirement age was voted through in france and the austerity measures were voted through in greece,
As much as the government put in place the means for there own down fall ultimately the blame lies with banks and land speculators
Shame on the Gardai for the way they behaved. They are no longer protectors of Irish people but the protectors of a vicious bunch of gangsters. The government are also screwing the gardai, lets see how they like it.Everyone in Ireland should turn their backs to all politicians, shun them, ignore them, dont speak or have any communication with any politician until this bunch go.Shame on the Irish government, hang yourself Cowen.

I'll also be more than happy to stir it up... and so should you! Unless you wanted to be treated like a fucking peasant all your life!
Lets see how it all goes south when a group more dangerous and volotile than 'students' decide to get a bit angry.... I doubt there would be coppers being brave with batons in darndale, ballymun or finglas if they decided to run amok over social welfare or something... the cowards would run like the chicken shit fat bellys they are!
Which gives me an excellant idea... hmmm.... facebook......

All perfectly within the law... I'll make sure of that!
@abigailsda retarded shinners eirigi whoever or whatever umbrella they fall under, just seem to hijack every proper protest to cause trouble. Students have a point&protest was done corrrectly til the scumbags turned it into a half arsed riot and a very small % of gobshite students fell for the bait and joined in. Cant see how the Guards were in any way at fault on this one.
@abigailsda do you think the government give a crap if people protest peacefully? they would simply drive past in their mercs while people with signs stand outside the dail in the pissing rain. we need to use force at some stage.
Back to this riot. there was students there geniunely out to protest. Then there was the students who most likely were hammered from drink just up to cause hell.
For the guards maybe they went a bit heavy handed but its a tough job. Think of it this way theres a big angry crowd your a guard trying to disperse it? I think they were getting abuse when trying to remove ye from the building thats why they hit back.
Haha ya its not their fault it fell. But please let me outline what is their fault. For the record ive met Brian Cowen hes a very nice man as a person but as leader of this country I must admit he has a hard job. Personally its the other twits Harney and all them ive issues with and the fact they wont cut their own freaking wages. Maybe if they did that too took some of the burden of wage cuts hell people might trust them more. But nooo its low class taking the hits nobody else.
if your only reason to protest is "to make a point because this goverment are a load of fucking eejets! " then you have no idea about the ridiculously difficult job the government has to try and fix the economy. It wasn't their fault the whole Global Banking System failed. While everyone is taking cuts in pay and having an increased hard time at the moment, which is regrettable, no one should be exempt, other wise you're being racist, ageist, sexist, basically biased in general!
@MuzzyBeag the government do have an extremely hard job to fix the economy but you have to understand if the government raise fee's many students will not be able to afford to go to college. Education is the future, students will emigrate to australia etc & then the economy really will be fucked,
@MuzzyBeag with no future educated people how does the government ever expect to fix the economy. yes there have been cuts in other sectors but i am a student! i have very little money and will not be able to afford to continue my education if the fee's are raised! open your eyes and realise we are the future of this economy.
@MuzzyBeag the extent of our problems is almost exclusively caused by the government.. the globla financial crisis was just the match to the fuse. you cannot comprehend the level of corruption in this country
Why are people fighting with the guards? They aren't the ones raising college fees. Most of them are doing their job to put their own children through college and probably had kids marching in that protest.
@jazzzwolf Yeah but oddly they turned up already prepared for trouble complete with riot gear, batons. That wasn't arranged on the spot!
It'll be interesting to see what happens when the masses on social welfare arrive from the squalor of the suburbs, complete with their own weaponry...for their march on the dail.
Those people wont be backing down! And the cops would have very good reason to be protecting the politicians.
And in Ireland first sign of the army constitutes an uprising.
@MumblingMickey quit mumbling and talking shit , Mickey. E200 per week for sitting on yer arse. Go up north and you'll not even get E100. Welfare state is right.
@atrueirishman So you think all those people who lost their jobs in the last 18 months are all just lazy... they all just got lazy at the one time.... all decided together to just give up work?
Not exactly a fucking genius are you? I know plenty of those people supposedly 'sitting on their arse' with the bank already foreclosing on their house... ignorant fucking twat!
Anyway...lets see how this pans out... lets see how those 'lazy arse sitters' react to their only source of income being cut.
@MumblingMickey i wish that was true but unfortunatley history in ireland has shown that we will take anything so long as its not from the brits. if this was greece or france the country would have underwent a reveloution around early 2008. what we need are crowds of this size outside every ministers house every day untill they fuck off out of the country.
@reset2zero1 I have no idea why we need politicians...all they do is act as middlemen between us and the civil infrastructure anyway... and they siphon off tons of resources in their little games. Democracy is just a pipe dream... they can't carry out the wishes of millions thats impossible.
Wouldn't it be better to build some sort of technology that allowed all of us to interface with the running of our country ourselves and sack these parasites for good...all of them?
@reset2zero1 You think if those guys left their house with a mob outside they'd make it to the airport alive?
I have this image in my head of a crowd dragging fat Mary fucking harney though the streets of Dublin tied to the back of a car...and stringing the bitch up from anything they think will supoprt her weight.... which would be a long slow drive....
@MumblingMickey Well my cousin and her fiance are both stationed in pierce st. and they both were off duty at the time and had to be called in, the guards weren't sitting around ready and waiting to beat people because they were protesting. Alot of them have children going to college themselves too remember.
@lollydoneahoe Then based in the city centre they are in the wrong place for what happens next. It doesn't take a genius to work that out. It's gonna get a lot worse.
That video distinctly shows an untrained heavy handed approach to kids many of whom have no way out.
Is this the level of 'civil control' the Irish police force are trained in? wow... we're fucked!
The police are hired to uphold the law they should do so like robots and I mean like machines... thats their job.
how do u know?? were you there?? i was there and i saw all this we were here to make a point because this goverment are a load of fucking eejets! as for a stupid protest! do you ever think that there is many people strugging to pay the fee as it is! why should we have take the fall for the stupid mistake of the drunken clowen of a taoiseach we have!! this riot started out as a sit down protest but the guards came over made everyone move and it was too cramed and the guards started hitting them!
"Students"? I somehow doubt these twits are going to lectures every day. These were just a bunch of self righteous thugs who wanted to cause trouble and get people hurt.
As for the Gardai, fair play to them. I don't think I could have taken the abuse they were getting with such careful restraint. If you attack an officer of the law you deserve everything you get, which could be a lot more than a bloody nose.
i dont get a grant and i have a part time job. I can just about afford to pay the fees as it is, in fact i haven't paid yet so have incurred a 60e late payment fine and i agree that people should have jobs but its not always as simple as that. It shouldn't be about money its about education, those violent protestors weren't students anyway they were part of the SWP and other left wing groups.
Ya except this is Ireland not the Uk or the US. Here were getting screwed for everything paying fees will have a bad consequences. But this protest is a joke I saw students with F*** Police brutality!! Somebody tell me what that had to do with the protest? a majority of Students who dont really care went up their to cause trouble and it makes the good hard working students look bad.
This is such a stupid protest. Most other countries have to pay college fees. The day of this march, the UK announced a triple in the fee to £9000. Students already get a grant of $3000. Maybe that and a part-time job would pay the the tuition. Plus, paying has allot of benifits.
"We can't afford feeeeeees! Continue to pay our tuition costs for us!!" they yelled, while throwing full cans of beer at police..... Maybe don't spend your money on beer, lads?

@TyronDamienJara Usury/Debt is responsible for this. A system that favours billions for bankers and debts for people.

This is such a stupid protest. Most other countries have to pay college fees. The day of this march, the UK announced a triple in the fee to £9000. Students already get a grant of $3000. Maybe that and a part-time job would pay the the tuition. Plus, paying has allot of benifits.
