I like Radiohead, and I'm a fan of most of their work, and this is a great song, but I do not understand why my fellow Radiohead fans furiously insist OK Computer was a better album then The Bends. I wouldn't even say OK Computer is the second best, I'd put In Rainbows ahead of it. I just feel The Bends represents Radiohead's first major step in becoming what they have, and it was a pleasant collection of everything they were before going on an experimentation frenzy (which i've enjoyed).

@TSBA92 I LOVE the Bends. It's one of my favorite albums of all time. Of course, this is Radiohead we're talking about, so I'd have to say the same with pretty much all of their other albums. But I agree with you, OK Computer, while incredibly awesome, is overrated compared to the others.

@TSBA92 I might be a little biased, since OK Computer was the album that got me into Radiohead, but for me I think I preferred the...instrumentation? of the album over The Bends. While a phenomenal album, it still seemed rooted in their classic Brit pop/rock setup. I liked the dynamic shifts between songs on OK Computer and the fact that they brought in new sounds. I guess the ambiance is what I'm looking for? That's just me. Also that being said, Black Star is one of my favorite songs ever.

@nakedfunk naaaah. Radiohead is just full of different shades of black. The 'old radiohead' is a more purple shade, and it makes me feel like slitting my wrist after throwing a huge tantrum.
