this is from animal collective's merriweather post pavillion, song called guy's eyes [written by panda bear and sung by him there as well]. the original has a more intricate beat, but well, panda bear as a solo artist has some limitations as compared to AC..
What are you on about? Have you listened to Person Pitch?
This original doesn't even have a more intricate beat.. it's much simpler. To say it's more complicated is just ridiculous! It barely changed during the entire song. Come on, man.

well he doesn't play instruments per se right? he works like some sort of dj. he makes songs with great atmosphere, but you can't say they are extremely complicated as far as rhythm..
I believe there is software that can fix his slight intonation problem. Actually, if the rest of the performance is preprogrammed why bother with the live voice at all?

i'm sick of these animal collective guys on stage acting like djs. dude, i paid like 30 dollars to watch these guys stand like zombies behind electronic equipment.
Make sure to not buy a ticket when AC or panda comes to my town. I wouldn't want the spot to be wasted by the disappointed guy that could only figure out how to use the internet when it was time to complain.
when is the "time to complain?" don't i have the right to review a crappy show? i refuse to see radiohead live now too, because their concert prices are outrageous. and isn't it hypocritical to judge me for complaining by complaining about my complaint?!
i would rather see someone playing electronics and samplers than guitar and drums...zeppelin already did that, let's see something new. besides, it's not like they have a laptop up there.. it's all analog, they are tweaking knobs to specifications that are difficult to reach..just as challenging as hitting certain chords on a guitar. to me, it's refreshing to finally see indie rock/pop music evolving.
I'm not sure what I'm missing here, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Mandroid is an awesome word though, so I'll check them out on that principle alone.
"I am pretty sure that Eric Copeland may be the spawn of Satan. Not that it's a bad thing..I am just sayin'." hahaHAahahAHAA so true, i saw that show. I think this song is 'bonfire of the vanities', but im guessing. I would also like to know the name.
I saw him last night for the Saturday show. He pulled off the sound great...I was a little worried that the overlapping soundscapes would be tough to recreate live, but it was not a disappointment. Eric Copeland and Scott Mou were the openers. I am pretty sure that Eric Copeland may be the spawn of Satan. Not that it's a bad thing..I am just sayin'.
nice use of fleetwood mac if you ask me....ya'll don't know squat haters

It seems like if you know about Panda Bear, you end up loving the music.
I've never known a Panda Bear hater except this one guy who always wants to listen to Gucci Maine.

what has person pitch got to do with it? there is no version of guy's eyes on that album..
teoferrazzi 2 years ago
Because it's his latest solo album? You were commenting on his abilities as a solo artist.

Huh, he usually is a more on pitch live, thats odd. Perhaps he couldn't hear himself in his monitor?

Panda uses a lot of sampling....take Person Pitch for example, there's a lot of sampling form the tornadoes.

This is a really great track. He's pretty out of tune at first, but really starts nailing it toward the end.
