  • @MsDisneylandlover

I have this episode and a number of others that have not been fully uploaded onto YouTube, and when I do, you will be able to see the full episode, as well as other Disneyland episodes such as the 10th and 25th Anniversary shows, "Around the Seasons", "From the Pirates of the Caribbean to the World of Tomorrow", as well as "50 Happy Years". I'm currently uploading the Kingdom Hearts series as an animated series, and have 15 (of 161) episodes uploaded.

  • o i c the black people r working lol

  • louie had a big nose lol

  • where were the black at in the crowd

  • I wasn't on board by any means, but I remember watching it on TV.

  • 06:25 Proof that even in 1962, white people couldn't keep a beat. LOL (joking!! *runs and hides*)

  • Magnífico, muchas gracias por compartirlo.

  • I wonder if any of those people on board the boat still remember that night . Haha!

  • @Abriggs500 How could they ever forget it! How lucky they were to witness a great moment in music and disney history.

  • Man, I didn't know the banjoist from the original hot five had been around in the 60s - I've really loved the old stuff by him and Ory et al

    (Satchmo's great as always btw)

  • @busessuck1 So glad you enjoy the video. This is such a moment in music history. I love the old stuff too!

  • I hope that traditional jazz music never dies out. I'm 17 years old and play clarinet. I'm never going to stop playing my horn. Louis Armstrong is awesome as well as Edmund Hall the clarinetist. Thanks for uploading this clip. I've never seen it before. :)

  • @Abriggs500 I do not think that traditional jazz will ever die out and neither will the legend of Louis Armstrong. Thanks for letting me know how much you enjoy the video.

  • @Abriggs500 Not sure that the clarinetist was Edmund Hall . And the drummer ?

  • @PM290455 No, it's not Mr. Hall, and his name is EDMOND not Edmund.

  • Wonder how those folks managed to luck out enough to be the ones on the boat when they filmed the number, seeing a living legend in his element.

  • @Anynom They were sure a lucky bunch of people. What a wonderful memory to have.

  • @Anynom Well for starters, you had to be white and well off. Ah the wonderful world of Disney...

  • Great stuff - thank you!

  • @95Galante Glad you enjoy the video clip. It is great stuff! Stuff that just doesn't seem to happen anymore.

  • @LoreneFaith it is a sad reality, there are still some of the greats alive and performing today but once they go, they are gone.

  • @95Galante So true. It is a sad reality that there just does not seem to be this sort of classic, bigger than life types out there anymore, and yes, once they are gone, they are gone forever.

  • @LoreneFaith It is a sad reality

  • @LoreneFaith i dnt knw if u were da 1 who upload this on her but do u have the full movie to disneyland after dark

  • I wasn't on the riverboat that night but did go to Disneyland three nights that week.

Satchmo came across on a Tom Sawyer raft to a stage in New Orleans Square and played two sets. I was in the front row.

For several summers the "Young Men from New Orleans" played on the riverboat almost every night. I was such a fan.

When I married we went on our honeymoon. Joe Darensburg dedicated a song to "spacenurse and her hubby".

Johnny St. Cyr had passed by then but I heard his banjo in my mind.

  • @spacenurse What wonderful memories. How lucky you were. Disneyland 3 nights a week, what could be better than that :) So you got to see Satchmo in New Orleans square, wow is all I can say. I have another video that I will try and upload in the next couple of days that you would really love. I am sure that it will bring back more good memories :) Stay tuned to this channel.

  • @joyfulone54 I was born 35 years after this. And in Europe. That's two reasons why I wasn't there, and do I regret it! All we got now at Disney... let's not talk about that.

Thanks very much for the video!

  • @DellDuckfan313 Thank God for YouTube where you can watch so much great stuff and where I can share some of my favorites. I wish I could have been on the Mark Twain that night too.

  • I was there the day Louis Armstrong performed on the Mark Twain Steamship. My dad scooted my sister and I up to the front, we were about 10 feet from Satchmo! (I was 8) Best memories with my best friend & sister Katy!I wish we had pictures of that!

  • @joyfulone54 Oh my how I envy you! What a wonderful memory and you were there. Thanks for sharing :)

  • Thanks for posting this! Louis, the consummate artist and performer!

  • @karmathondrup and American legend!

  • Everything dear Louis did was awsome. Great sound etc. and how wonderful to see legends like Kid Ory, Polo Barnes, Johnny St.Cyr, Mike DeLay, Harvey Brooks and Alton Redd etc. Thanks

  • @46professor I love the old blues and jazz musicians too. I sure wish I could have been one of the lucky ones on the Mark Twain that night. What a memory. Disneyland had a lot of big name performers back then.

  • El tema inicial es RIO PEREZOSO (LAZY RIVER) compuesto por HOAGY CARMICHAEL , el compositor de STARDUST y de GEORGIA ON MY MIND.

  • GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT thanks

  • This video is AWESOME!!!!

  • I really like it too! I wish I could have been on the Mark Twain that night!

  • Wow, this is really good! Thanks, LoreneFaith.
