Hey if you know much about horror films then tell me is 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks later any good? and is Silent Hill any good too it's my birthday in 8 days and i really want to get some more horror films for my collection i only want good ones though :)
a nice collection you have there. isee you have the double damned movies village and children of the damned .i got them awhile back both being british classics.
nice collection, i have a few, only of my favourite hammers... dracula prince of darkness, taste the blood of dracula,, dracula has risen from the grave, the gorgon and the mummy(1959)
All great movies! i remember watching the hammer horror late night double-bill movies in the 1970s on tv (bbc2)i guess that got me hooked :O)
What a wonderful collection! I had the last two days off and spent them watching Hammer and Amicus movies, mixed in with a few episodes of Night Gallery. What a cool place to live you have!
nice DVDs. I got a lot WWE ones. But not much regular dvds. I buy mine in FYE and sometimes Big Lots. I think Target and Walmart they rip ya off with the prcies
@wildzerouk Hello mate, I grew up watching Hammer Horror but I must ask you a q - my girlfriend has a deep fear of Christopher Lee as Dracula and she tells me about a film where he (as a vampire) very slowly comes down some stairs and bites a woman stood transfixed at the bottom of the stairs. Please help me cos I want to shit her up haha.
Thanks mate!! Yeah Hammer and Amicus put some great stuff out! Id also recommened you check out films by Tigon, Pete Walker & Norman J Warren if your into British Horror! Thanks for Watching! :)
@muzikman74 That movie is MARY SHELLEY'S FRANKENSTEIN starring Robert De Niro as The Monster (I am not joking either it is true), Kenneth Branagh as Dr. Frankenstein, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Hulce, Aidan Quinn, Ian Holm, Richard Briers and John Cleese. It is awful.
@freddy3911 Could also be 'Frankenstein' with Randy Quaid as the monster and Patrick Bergen as Frankenstein, that one was a TNT made-for-cable movie from the 90's. It could also be 'Frankenstein: the True Story' from the 1970's, which was a made for TV movie. I'll have to double check, but I think 'Terror of Frankenstein' with Per Oscarson also has a finale on an ice-bound ship.
I'm not alone then in being crowded out of my living room by my dvd collection :) Hard as it is, my faves are Quatermass and the Pit, Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter, and The Mummy.
Very interesting clip. I do own a lot of the titles but they are in various forms, some VHS and others on various dvd productions.
My favourite three hammer films in reverse order are Satanic Rites Of Dracula despite Christopher Lee being fed up of the part. Quatermass and the pit in which Andrew Keir was superb as Quatermass. My favourite is Plague of the Zombies. Very creepy and atmospheric. My favourite scene has to be Andrea Lawrence in Countess Dracula after the blood dont work. cor
Thanks for the comment! I could never pick a top 3 as i love alot of Hammers :) But here are a few of my favs: Dracula Prince Of Darkness , Brides of Dracula , Kiss Of the Vampire , The Reptile ,Taste The Blood Of Dracula. I also have a soft spot for Scars Of Dracula as it was the First Hammer i ever saw. :)
I am trying to obtain a copy of the 1958 hammer film The Stranglers Of Bombay. I saw the film way back in the mid seventies when it was shown on the ITV friday night horror film series Appointment With Fear. I cant seem to find it anywhere. Have you got it and if so how did you obtain it.
Stranglers Of Bombay is one that i havent got you can still pick it up on VHS but they go for silly money. Ive been trying get hold of Gorgon i missed taping it when it was shown bbc 2 a few months ago. :)
Yes The Gorgon is another film I saw years ago but i cannot seem to find on DVD anywhere. Its strange how the same old hammer films get repeated year in year out but others seem to escape publicity.
My next quest is to obtain a copy of the film It. Not the steven king one with the clown but a british effort made in 1966 about a golem. It starred Roddy Mcdowall and a beautifull actress of the time called Jill Haworth. Alas like stranglers of Bombay it appears to have dropped off the radar.
Is your frankenstien and the monster from he'll uncut or cut .

Mate your Hammer collection is quality. Those Tigon and Amicus boxsets are sweet but such a bastard to get hold for a decent price.

Do you know the name of The Frankenstein movie where these men are on a ship and it is snowing, I've been trying to find the name of that one forever?
I've got quite a Hammer collection as well, almost everyone. I love Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee...they were the best!

Sorry mate it doesnt ring a bell but it does sound interesting. Sounds like it could be a low budget euro horror though. :)
wildzerouk 3 years ago
I am pretty sure you are refering to Universal's Frankenstein: The True Story.
Made in 1973 and was originally shown on tv in two parts. I remember seeing it on tv in the 70's and enjoyed it very much.
It is available on DVD.

Good to see other Hammer Horror fans out there.
Twins Of Evil and Hands Of The Ripper would have to be two of the best 70's features.
Worst of Hammer is the lame Mummy follow up films.
lefty5128 3 years ago
Twins Of Evil is one on my fav 70s hammers along with Vampire Circus & Vampire Lovers. Sexy naked vampires whats not to like! :)
wildzerouk 3 years ago
