  • Verdasco must have put glue in his hair to get it to stay put in a 5 setter against Nadal.

  • 4:05 BANANA SHOT

  • Such a great match!

  • He won this match on saturday in 5 sets and then defeated federer in 5 sets the next day..He is a bulldog...mentally tough and physically as tough as rock!

  • probably the best game ive seen behind the wimbledon final of 2008

  • I fuking love nadal. Such a nice guy and an unbelievable player

  • Best match ever!!!!!!!!!

  • by the way Rafa is such a great gentleman!

  • just in love with 6:59 - 7:45 !! Best match of all time!!!

  • just one of the best matches ever .... !!!!!

  • this whole game was a highlight!

  • Verdasco is a fantastic player. Too bad he can't use his abilities to go further in Grand Slams. Still a wonderful player though, one of my favorites.

  • nadal king of defence

  • What a horrible match!

  • fernando is so hot!

  • i am soo upset to say I never got to see this match LIVE !!

  • check my forehand let me know what you think :) thanks

  • My greatest tennis matches of all time:

    1. Nadal v Verdasco, AO, 2009 SF #2

    2. Nadal v Federer, Wimbledon 2008 Final

    3. Isner v Mahut, Wimbledon 2010 R1

  • This should be the universal camera angle. I was always bothered at how there are different camera angles for basically every court in the world, and I really don't like the ones that appear to be flat-out square-shaped (like the WTF). I like the US Open, but it's a bit too long, whereas this one compliments both hard, deep shots as well as short angles.

  • Verdasco should have won this match. He was fucking on that day.

  • This match makes me want to switch to playing tennis left-handed

  • This match likes prince of tennis....snake shots...banana shots....dunk smash....jack knife...OMG

  • 7:22 Fernando puts his eyes on a nice chick

7:33 Ferando has his eyes crossed

  • 6:35 DID ANYONE EVER SEE DJOKOVIC DOING STUFF LIKE RAFA DID IN THIS RALLY....?

please go hell boys, Rafael Nadal was, is and will ever be the best..! obviusly along with Roger the Maestro!

  • Certainement l'un des plus beau match de l'histoire du tennis!!

  • Too bad Verdasco doesn't play anymore like that. As you can see he and others can produce a game like that equivalent or even better at times than the greatest ever players in the game. Thats why the greatest players are the ones with most consistency - > Federer, Nadal, and now maybe Djokovic will join them but we will have to wait and see. Neither the passion or the motivation he had in this tournament are with him, its all gone.

  • @PhoenixJuice i heard he's also changed racquets.

  • best match ever

  • It excites me to see the diamond for the millionth time, too

  • 3:39- 4:05 is amazing, the way Nadal curves the ball at the end is insane

  • for this kind of matchs, the tenis needs a final tie score!! ... awesome from both!!

  • I unrealistically hope players like Nadal can play week in week out like this :/ maybe if they did it a bit more often, you know, find the motivation and drive from within.

  • This SF is better than F RN VS RF

  • notice how nadal throws righty

  • Obviously Verdasco needs to play under the Tecnifibre banner again.

  • verdasco played there a match of his life

  • 6:35 - 6:55 was also a good point

  • to back up this performance, with another tough 5 setter, just show´s what a hardcore competitor rafa really is..

  • Nadal is just the worst player ever, he plays like a pussy, always returning balls high to ensure his opponent cant attack so well, and then he waits till he gets to the net and then nadal just shots a passing shot and thats that, so gaaaaay.

  • this game had about as many amazing points as you would find in a whole tournament :O

  • After this match, I know Verdasco is one of my fav.

  • Incredible match, but it always puzzles me that the MC is so depressed when announcing Nadal as the winner

  • best video on youtube<3

  • what a silly guy verdasco! double fault in that moment after been training all his life

  • You didn't show the amazing cross court forehand Verdasco made during the 4th set tiebreak!! ....but anyway awesome vid! ....These two are by far the best shot making leftys EVER!! :D

  • nadal: I didnt want to win like this 8:33

great sportsmanship and class from rafa

  • 4:03 woow That Shot Nadal!

  • @tebinho2011 bannana!

  • 1:18 "Shiiiiiii-ocking."

  • what.a.match.

  • this match should have never ended

  • rafa lost that defense and these shoots

  • Thumbs up if you will watch this in 2021

  • credit to fernando, he threw everything, but rafa´s competitiveness+ defense is just monster..

  • @extradutyfelt1 gayness and faggotness is just gay, right?

  • @FExpiate why the hell, are you asking me..

  • @extradutyfelt1 but that's what nadal is all about.

  • Amazing how much talent and effort Verdasco exhibits and then completely loses his flare in his final service game ainthe 5th set and loses it all, Nadal stays consistent throughout and goes for the higher percentage shot and succeeds. Right now is Djokovic's time though.

  • this is a great match but my favourite is roddick vs federer wimblendon 2009!

  • Rafa needs to find his aggresive game again!

  • Rafa was so defensive in this match..he was actually really lucky to get out of this one. But then again true champions defend very well..Rafa and Federer are perfect examples. Great match!

  • wtf double fault after this match

  • Line guard: "Sir,you can't cross the net"

    Nadal: "Bitch,i'm Nadal"

    lol Then crosses the net

  • @ThisBePhilip I don't know if that is true but that is funny.

  • this is inspiring shit. i can feel how fun tennis is just watching it.

  • why dont they have these kind of confidence these days.....when i was watching them play ppl on wimbledon this year i thought i was watching safin....

  • For me this is the best match I've seen.

  • 28 people don't have the software to be able to watch this video..

  • Thinking that's the best I've ever seen FeVer play, before or since.

And Rafa, of course, is spectacular.

  • Nadal has the true snake shot

  • loved watching verdasco's friend in in the stands in this match lol

  • probably the best match i have ever seen!

  • the first point of the video, is how federer should play nadal.......run him out of position and then pull the drop shot

  • It doesnt deserved to finish like that.

  • Congrats to both players for playing so amazingly and giving us such a fantastic match to watch and enjoy! Rafa forever!

  • 3:38 - 4:07- The Best

  • Verdasco ferrer us open

  • This was an INCREDIBLE match :),but i will remember it mostly because of this thing: When i woke up this match was going to start i felt sorry because i know i couldnt watch it because i was going to school but when i returned from school they were still playin i was SOO HAPPY and i sitted i watched the match right away :))))

  • Awesome game,come back verdasco!!!

  • I WANT THIS VERDASCO BACK!!!

  • A match like a double marathon

A match with unbelievable shot making

A match that brought me to tennis

    A match of pure tension

    A match for the ages

    THE match of all time.

  • @tycddt yeah, but you forgot Agassi-Blake (Us Open 2005); Nadal-Coria (Rome 2005); Federer-Nadal (Wimbledon 2008); Federer-Safin (Australia 2005) and much more!

  • @MYHEARTMUTMINI10 I've had the pleasure to watch all these games and IMHO none compares to this one. You have to go to the 90s or even before to find a game in which both players were at this level. And even if you find one, the quality of shots, rallies, physical effort, the scenario, the suspense... I mean they cannot compare to this. None of Rafa-Roger's clashes ever reached this. The 2005 Miami Masters final was epic, but inconsistent. The 2008 Wimbledon final was great, but on grass context

  • 28 people got a racket in their a** ;)))

    unbelievable rallies

  • i love the 4th set tiebreak

  • Verdasco vs Ferrer at US Open 2010 also was a memorable match.

  • Partidazo!!!!!!

  • "Magical Skill" - Best description for Nadal in 1:45

  • best match of 2009!

  • thats an amzing match, verdasco deserved it....

  • best match i#ve ever seen!

  • if only verdasco could play like this every time

  • What a brilliant match!!!

  • 29 dislike are from Federer's Team!

  • I have never seen Verdasco play like´that. What an performence. It's really bad that he lost. I think tha Nadal won mentally, because nadal is a bigger player than him. Verdasco will look back on this match some day and he will be really proud. He shocked nadal. WOW!

  • that was the best match I've ever seen

  • @nadal589 that was the best match I've ever seen, before the final with Federer!! :)

  • @Kenpachi89Zaraki No,I don't think so. The quality was much better in this match

  • @nadal589 this match has been more fought......a great battle!!!

But I continue to prefer the final with Federer.......for a reason of quality and technical level.

In that match both players invented paranormal winning shots, with forehand and backhand.......for the quality of tennis I think it has been the best match Rafa vs Roger in 25 total matches played.......better also than the final of Wimbledon 2008!!!

    P.S. I love Rafa!!!!

  • 3:38 - 4:06

  • @6:50 Waist high overhead? No problem.

  • shshshsh shit? or shocking?

  • best sport performance ever, verdasco should have won :(

  • I feel bad for mahut in the isner match

  • i wish there could be a tie for tennis matches like this.i feel so bad for Fernando....

  • u now what sux verdasco ended up winning most of the rallies but lost the most intence one

  • 3:38 TO 4:07.

oNE OD THE BESTS SHOT THAT I EVER SEEN

  • nadal is a cheater. he works with fuentes.

  • Interesting video - friend and subscribe for day trading, day trader, day trade videos, technical analysis...

  • one of the best matches in tennis history!!!

  • re watching again.

  • verdasco deserved to win

  • @jsrhendrix I feel the same way. To be fair to the sport though, I'm glad that tennis matches are won by the players and not decided by judges. Take boxing for instance.

  • 6:34 the best point ever

  • i can watch this replay like a hundred times and it still inspires me just like the first time

  • Verdasco's best match he ever played..

  • @MrDisasterass better then the final

  • @MrDisasterass and he lost against granollers lol

  • lefty.

  • the two fernandos , verdasco and gonzalez are my favourite players , what a forehands they have !

  • 638 727 views from me .

  • best match ive never seen!! viva the spanish armadaa!!

  • Phenomenal match, I was glued to my seat, and phenomenal Nadal, how many great matches have we seen which involved the 'great Nadal, he has made tennis so very special.. I adore this sportsman,.

  • verdasco could have won if he ran around the ball to hit more forehands

  • @MrBonehead93 No he wouldn't, Verdasco is a very slow player, he can't run around to hit forehands like Grosjean or Federer. Nadal's not stupid and considering this was a close match Nadal always had the upper hand during the rallys and rarely faced break points towards the end of the match.

  • @GyariSan ok fine he was slow in 2009 but IF he could have hit more forehands then he could have won this particular match. In this match Nadal was not playing his best and Verdasco was putting pressure on him, Nadal did not always have the upper hand during the rallies, I think the video speaks for itself

  • @MrBonehead93 Nadal not playing the best? He had 52 winners and only 25 UFEs. Nadal was playing superbly. Verdasco just had 95 freaking winners. Was out hitting him.

  • @StewNWT Nadal wasn't playing HIS best

  • 'Nadal' in Polish means 'still'. Hope he will STILL play wonderful tennis like that.

  • this a best match hard court i ever see in my life!!!

  • Fernando Verdasco made 28 youtube accounts and hit the dislike button 28 times.

  • ledoka suck rafa cock asshole

  • Match of the decade. !!

No other match could have been as physical as this one .. !!

  • Top 3 Forehands:-

    1)Federer

    2 )Verdasco

    3) Del Potro

  • @drunk1234 nope. gonzalez is number one. then federer, then del Potro, then verdasco.

  • 10 Australian Open matches by year: Agassi Sampras 2000 Agassi Rafter 2001 Federer Haas 2002 El Aynaoui Roddick 2003 Agassi Safin 2004 Federer Safin 2005 Baghdatis Nalbandian 2006 Federer Roddick 2007 (beautiful beatdown!) Federer Tipsarevic / Kohlschreiber Roddick-tie 2008 Federer Nadal / Nadal Verdasco-tie, but will probably go with the latter 2009 Gasquet Youzhny 2010
  • THIS MATCH. FUCKING AWESOME!

    best aus open match ever

  • like this if you have seen this video over 15 times!

  • Top 5 most physically-taxing matches of all time, and still my favorite AO match ever.

I would love to be able to relive this in HD.

  • Coolest match ever!

  • but how often did he scratch his penetrated bum?

  • Verdasco is one player who hasn't lived up to his mammoth potential.

  • Easily the greatest match of all time.

  • fuck you nadal. you didnt deserve it.

  • one of the best, most even matches in a long time

  • my fav match of all time

  • i don't like neither of them but i really hoped verdo'd win. too sad he didnt cause he played really amazing

  • Hey I was a ball boy for this thats me at 8:45 and at 9:15 was a awesome match by both players.

  • A shame the match had such an anti-climactic finish with the double fault.

  • 1000 likes

  • verdasco deserved to win this match so much more than nadal!

ahhhh i hope he wins a grand slam he deserves it.

  • I like verdasco game. He is such clean hitter of the ball. He hit 95 winners against nadal in this match. I hope he wins atleast one slam some time

  • Verdasco were equal Nadal in this match. Such a great player!

  • I was in the stadium that night...epic!

  • this is how tennis should be played

  • I was at this game :) my first ever tennis game and it was probs the best game of australian open history!

  • 2 orejas para Nadal, pero Verdasco se las merece igual!

  • Verdasco will win French Open champion 2011. If he come USA NJ Cherry Hill to get secret weapon, his dream will come true. I am 100% sure. Please email super_king1956@yahoo.com

  • its too bad, verdasco has everything a player needs to win a gs, a great forehand, great backhand, great serve, great defense, plays great in the decisive moments but nadal and federer are just that bit better than him at those to win a grand slam

  • One of the best matches ever, no doubt...

  • dasco is just a brainless brute who happens to be a mental midget too

  • I feel bad for Verdasco. Everytime he plays Nadal it always ends with him getting brutally sodomized and throatfucked by Rafa's dick. He comes close a few time but in the end always ends up taking Nadal's load up his ass. Verdasco = Nadal's bitchboy.

  • 5:03 lol his expression sums up this match

  • 4:03 if god played tennis he wound't even make this shot

  • Commentators need to do their job instead of moaning and groaning

  • What a game that was! Nadal is a force of nature, but I feel sorry for Verdasco. Against anyone else I believe he would have won.

  • rewatching this.... . got to say this is one of the greatest matches.

  • This was the best match Verdasco has ever and will ever play in his entire career
