  • It's amazing how emotional I still get watching this. I was 9 when Andrew hit, and it changed my life. It made me realize what is REALLY important in life, and it's not what can blow away in the wind.

  • 3:39, thats my high school! lol. wow, nothing bad happened there... It is a hurricane shelter with hardly any windows so it makes sence that it didnt even get scratched!

  • I went to work in Homestead and Miami after Andrew. (I'm from Georgia) and I tell you, I gained a whole new respect for Mother Nature after that. I felt so sorry for those poor people, but I do have to say that rebuilding that place was the best time of my life. I absolutely loved it, learned so much, and made more money than I'd ever had in my whole life. It got me out of Georgia for a while, & "expanded my horizons" so to speak. If I could go back in time, I'd go back to Homestead. Absolutely.

  • It was really messed up no phone or power for 5 mos after the storm our house was not totalled but severly damaged The eye passed right over us I will never forget it
