I have the book "Robota". It's nothing short of fantastic! When I saw this clip, I thought it was the preview of a feature film and I nearly squealed with glee. Then I saw that it was a clip that advertised the book. WTF!? Why would they go through so much trouble making a clip instead of doing a 90min movie? The world needs to see this glorious eye candy in motion!!

Huh.  I've had this book for years. It's by Orson Scott Card with pictures by Doug Chiang. I never read it though...I just like robots :)

@BalisongAbraxas It's by Doug Chiang with assistance by the amazing OSC. It's all Chiang's material from his ideas, though. Read it, it starts slow but is really, really good.

Doug Chiang is an amazing talent! If anyone thinks it's easy getting a film made, think again. There's a lot of great stuff that never gets optioned. Hope the right studio picks this one up! It could be amazing.

I have the book, it's fantastic! Orson Scott Card and Doug Chiang did an awesome job on this! Amazing stuff IMO!

Someone here said this looks like Lego Bionical toys. Ummm...as ignorant as that may sound it does give me an idea next time I pass the toy isle at my local Wally World store.....

Maybe there ought to be an investigation into how the Lego people came up with the look of the Bionicle series. Mr. Chiang, your lawyer is on line 2, shall I put you though?

I second that thought .. this project came out before Bionical did.

I've Wiki'd and Google'd everything I can to get any new information about Chiang or this project, but everything is at least FOUR YEARS old ... what the heck is this guy doing with his life that is SOOOOOO amazingly time consuming that he cant post at least a sentance on HIS OWN SITE about what he's up to, if the project is still Go or not. Like damnit, I've been checking the site every year now. The game was due in 2006!
