  • Carmichael's turn as Stanley Windrush in "I'm All Right Jack" was among his best.

    "The Windrush Critique" at the end of that movie remains one of the best semi-soliloquies for 'Economic Patriotism' and against corrupt corporatism ever.

  • Got to know his elegant Lord Peter Wimsey in "Nine Tailors" and "Five Red Herrings". A great character brought into vivid life by this marvellous actor. I will miss you, my Lord.

  • @fkd1963 I'm with you on that. He WAS Lord Peter Wimsey. He brought a lot of pleasure to many, many people and I can believe it was his pleasure to bring the rest of us so much pleasure. RIP Ian.
