There was no bug in the end of this game. There were little goal arrows on your screen pointing you to your next task. "Bomb guards" are the things guarding the bombs in the center of the ship. The process was simple - get a bomb from the center, set it up somewhere on the ship, repeat! ;)

Still, great job dealing with the multitude of enemies.
