I'm inclined to vote for them & want to see them do well not because I agree with all their policies but because I want proprtional representation - then a vote for someone who more represents me wont be wasted. As things r, I find all 3 fairly similar regards crime,immigration,welfare spending and the EU. . .

As to some comments here; in all honesty,it's 13 years of Labour that have made me realise how the Nazi's managed to run 1930's Germany!!! I mean;we now live in a country where you do get hassled,even arrested for taking a photo of train stations or a museum for Christ's sakes!!!Hell; if Labour said the Jews r genetically different, most of it's core supporters would agree!!!

Also, I've lived in a number of countries including communist Russia and some one party states and the fact is, Labours England is the most regulated and spied on of the lot!!! They're all terrified at work of petty mistakes as they all carry hefty fines,not much better on the street!! u can barely sneeze now without someone being able to fine u for it, it's ridiculous!!!

The Liberal Democrats, like Labour, don't seem to understand the reason for the huge rise in crime in the last 60 years: the rise and prominence of the welfare state. 'Initiatives' such as gates on communities are not a long-term solution.

The Liberal Democrats would actually be the best bet to get us out of a recession and make sure tax is fairly distributed for one or two reasons alone. Nick Clegg needs to float away from the other two main parties and have clear policies which will win votes. Now Vince Cable, a man I admire has proposed an income tax cut instead of this pathetic VAT cut which most retailers are not taking that 2.5% off. Anyway Lib's also believe in fairer taxation and Im middle class living through Labour's EMA

Such a party would turn HM's fine prisons into wards staffed by "Psychologists", with the aim of discovering and fixing the wrongs of society: clearly the reason for the behaviour of the individual.

well, not especially. i do like him as a politician, but some of the policies they've dropped do annoy me. i was just fairly horrified that anyone could be so politically ignorant as to suggest they are a) like nazis, or b) undemocratic. and your comment was just a bit...unjustified? without the power of the civil service and government cash, of course there's a certain impotency now. but if we have a hung parliament after the next election? a coalition isn't the most unlikely option.

I think you'll find it was bmda106 who compared the Lib Dems with the Nazis. I was merely stating my opinion that the Libs couldn't run a bath. An opinion that was seemingly reflected throughout the UK as they got right royally shafted by the electorate on Thursday. im well aware it was bmda106, i was just explaining my slew of comments...and the may 1st results were definitely a tory victory, but lib dems improved from last year, statistically by a great amount, and now appear to stand a chance of entering coalition, having forced labour into third place in terms of percentage of the vote. besides, its not a party's job to show humility. its to scrutinize government, so calling themselves the shadow cabinet is obv a good idea...

Insults or not, I stand by what I say, and my opinions are based on first-hand experience of Liberal Democrat Ccouncillors and the spin & deception they employ. Calling themselves the Shadow Cabinet is not a good idea, it's dishonest. This title is reserve for the official opposition. I could start calling myself Brad Pitt, but it wouldn't mean that I became him. As for Libs scrutinising the government, don't make me laugh. Apart from their opposition to the Iraq war they're just NewLabour-lite!

The current legal system in Britain is notoriously lenient on serious crime ie- rape, arson, violent assault and hard on minor offences. Proportionality is in a mess. There must be a system whereby offenders will think twice before terrorising society.
