I LOVE Michael Pitt. What a great young actor. He's definitely going to win an Oscar someday. I can just feel it! This movie was so scarey, but he was so brilliant in it. I like him in everything he does. Just a wonderful actor. One of the best we have today. He was born in West Orange, New Jersey too. LOVE HIM!!! :)

From Spain... the actors are GREAT but the film is a REALLY YET!!!! I´ve never seen a movie like that, where showing many bad things that happen in real life.

They were taking another family hostage before getting to this last family. Michael Haneke lives in other planet, he dont know nothing about the people real suffering in a moment like that. Is like a joke to people who have experienced something bad like that.

when the original came out the director WANTED people to leave the theater! he was making a social commentary on how desensitized we are with violence in the media.

comedy comes to play when the characters who are torturing the family stop periodically and talk to the camera (you) as well with the scene when you think she's going to be raped (or something just as wicked) and he just has her put her clothes on again. when we watched this in class, people left thinking she was going to be raped

michael dominated this film he always plays a great pretty boy crazy role. if you look at his thrillers like this, murder by numbers and bully he is truly brilliant. larry clark said that he would be the next bobby deniro.

ljdshouludo: I'm a film buff and pretty much see everything. My sister warning that the Austrian version was an overblown piece of garbage stimulated my interest to judege for myself. Once I watched it, I was appalled (and bored) but stayed until the end. I now bad mouth this sort of violence to anyone who will listen. I sat all the way through The Blair Witch Project too and thought it was the biggest piece of trash ever made-but I knew that stupid, young people would love it.

He played the same sort of role in that film with Sandra Bullock...(the name escapes me -also something to do with games) about two college kids who kill girls for thrills. Sandra Bullock plays the policewoman who catches them.
