You want to get an incredible sound of this amp?? Run a sonic maximizer through the effects loop (at about half) and use the overdrive 2 setting with the countour at about 7. With good pickups it will sound amazing and you won't need a distortion pedal!!!

u mean distortion, marshall mg series doesn't have overdrive because there is no tubes to overdrive

My footswithc doesn't work for the the digital effects in the amp... but the channel select with the overdrive and clean work... but not with the effects..

you dont need an effects loop, like, for a cry baby(which you used as an example) there is an input and an output jack on the pedal(all pedals are like this), just plug the guitar straight into the input, then run another cord from the output into the amps input, its pretty simple

i think what people don't understand... that an amp this size has RIDICULOUS power... when i recorded this videio... i was just at lvl 1... and then i had to turn down the volume knob on my guitar... it is VERY powerful.

MG's aren't that good on sound,they rely on digital efects to componsate for the lack of tone.

That's why i'd recommed the Marshall AVT50 over this! Due to the pre-amp valve in an AVT50 you get your valve tone with a solid state power amp for reliability.

The AVT50 is British made and has the same volume capabilities as the MG100DFX.

i'm not saying MG's are shit,i'm just the AVT's are a lot better.If you want additional effects,buy an effects pedal.

well the 250 is almost the same as the 100. The 250 has another 12" speaker, but you dont have overdrive 1 and 2 toggle. All u have is overdrive 2. The 250 is louder but the 100 is plenty if you want to rock on stage or piss your neighbors off. lol I was considering the 250 but ended up buying the 100, I love it!
