  • fuckin slick, thank you

  • JJ machado's best student Eddie Bravo.

  • The Machado brothers are some of the very best in the world!

  • i like this pass i train with a guy who likes to use the butterfly guard when we spar and sometimes sweeps me in that position maybe by pinching my knees together he wont be able to anymore, this is useful gotta practice it or else ima forget.

  • Very simple and effective technique, i like it. Is the Machados related to the Gracies?

  • yea machados are related

  • @criticalbill1983 yes, their mother was a gracie.

  • 1080

if j.j.machado is so gay, go to his gym and have a roll..i think he will go easy on you: just wrap your legs around your fuckin' neck than throw you into the toilet

  • @talos1510 actually he will have one of his white or blue belts do it

  • I like this pass.

  • some sick shit

  • thats simple and beautiful

love you man. your making me a better jj

  • My favorite butterfly guard pass.

  • Great video!!!

    Grandma Mary

  • cant this guy get butterfly on you if you do this too slow?

  • At the :14 second mark notice how close Jean Jacques knees are to his partners hips. This positioning kills the leverage needed to his partner to attack with any type of butterfly/guard hook sweep.

Timing and momentum are important factors when passing the guard, so yes, if he is too slow he gives his opponent time to reset and recover.

  • @StudioEFX yes, but the guy would need to sit up. This would work better in no gi than it would gi, because your opponent would most definitely be grabbing some sleeves or collar when you stuff the knees in.

  • Nikki what i like to do,is that i kinda almost put a rear naked choke on my opponents legs, and it has to be above there knees,so that they can't open the legs and just play butterflyguard, then when u pass to one of the side, you take the arm that is on the bottom and get a good grip around there waist, don't go straight for side control, because then you most of the time, loose control with there hips, and they escape via shrimping

  • Thank"s for that tip, I"m going to try that tomorrow. I have the same problem Nikki has.

  • Only retarded grapplers will just lay down there and let you do what you want to do. If you're fast enough to trap both foot opponent will sit and impose their butterfly game. JJ should address possible counter of opponent to make this a convincing and effective pass.

  • This is a very good drill to practice, for many reasons. Your negativity isn't helpful. If you think that you train better than JJM, go tap him out.

  • Ur an idiot and u obviously dont know who the machado's are

  • Don't talk, do, then show. Talk is meaningless, if this is true please show me a video. Of course you kind of sound like either an experienced larper or some kind of suburban kid from a privileged area, whose only experience of fighting is watching dragonball.

  • Perhaps, but it's not a good idea to show an immediate counter because many people will feel the pass is useless. I use this pass or variation quite often against decent guys and it works.

  • But they'll just open their legs for the butterfly guard! How do I close their legs? Their legs are stronger than my hands, so hands won't do it...

  • It's all about the speed, if your opponent knows what you're doing almost everything is impossible, right? Speed, speed ,speed

  • neat il need to try that

  • i like that

  • very good!!!

  • NICE! I'll try this on my instructor, he loves the butterfly guard, I'll probably fuck it up lol.

  • sweet

  • the best
