My new book on Goose's great 1978 Yankees team, The Greatest Comeback Ever, is the only book ever written by a fan, live-time on a great sports season. It's available at Amazon.
Should Goose have been in even earlier? I have two words for you: Bill Mazeroski (puhleeze). The simple fact is that there are a few in the Hall who don't belong, and Mazeroski is the prime, glaring example. As long as Sutter is in, Gossage not being allowed in until 07 was a travesty. Now, put Roger Maris in, Alumni Committee.
gossage is the only pitcher i was scare to watch the red sox face. the guy was so dominating and his delivery so wild that it was even more scary than rivera or hoffman or gagné or whatever. and like the guy said, he was there in the 7 or the 8 inning. that was some real man saves.
Sutter and Gossage Both played for Chicago Ball Clubs!!!!!!
