Awesome! Is river dance basically the same thing as highland dancing? Your dance kinda looks like some of the river dance choreographies, just wondering
@midorihelenie ummm. no. not at all. it is a completely and utterly different style of dance they're really not similar in any way shape or form. just sayin.
Wow I'm an Irish dancer and this is so different than us I thought it would be kinda the same but its totally not lol what do you guys consider to be a leap because I didn't recognize any Irish dancing type leaps in there...very pretty though I like the arm stuff
I don't know what an Irish Dance leap is, but in Highland, it's say what she does at 0:09. It like jumping and doing the splits at same time kinda thing. I don't know how else to describe it. Hope that helps.
Scottish Dancer 93, youtube isn't allowing me to post as a reply. So here it is:
The leaps in Irish dancing come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and NAMES (different schools can use varied names to describe the same move). One of the ones done is a leap over (the name varies), others are like the jump in the air with your legs out to the side. There are a lot of different leaps and you can see a lot of them in this video "Parade of Champions Nationals 2008" by user JBluver1214 .
This is amazing! I highland dance myself, and have a few coreographys... but I'm not nearly as good as you. It's just amazing! I love your choice of music too, it works perfectly. GOOD LUCK AT SYTYCD!
Your feet and turn-out are so nice. do you do any more choreography's? I think you mentioned it somewhere. I love it the most. Check out the Wicked Tinkers music. I have used many of their tunes. Their Primal.
I think the song is "God" by Seven Nations (it might be "Green" I can't remember.)
Great dancing! I love the idea of doing traditional as well as modern music. The point is that cultural dancing is developmental. But we should always remember our roots.
Hey thanks! I know...it is just a shortened Highland Laddie. I used this piece for my So You Think You Can Dance audition, so wanted to dance something that I knew well.
The music is a celtic rock band Seven Nations, song "Up to me." They are pretty well known in Cali, but don't come out here very often.
this is amazing choreo :0
