NFS U2 requires minimum GeForce2 AGP graphics card to run while DiRT will run from GeForce 6800 PCI-E.

GF2 ~ 0.7GT/s while slowest recommended GF8800 (G80) has 12GT/s.

btw GF 8800GTS (G92) hits over 41GT/s

I ran it quite nicely on GF8600GT

GTA SA requires ~800MHz CPU, 256MB RAM and not specified DX9 Graphics card.

DX9 is suppported from GF FX 5xxx or Radeon 95xx/96xx.

These games have very low requirements.

DiRT on the other hand requires Athlon 3000+ or P4 3GHz CPU (dual/quad core preferred), 2GB RAM and GF8600 or Radeon X1950/HD38xx.

Running GTA SA on 60fps could give you DiRT running at about 2 frames per second, or with more RAM and faster CPU maybe at 5fps.

B4 buying the game download DEMO version to test it.

the only difference is a BUS width increased from 64bit to 128bit.

CPU and amount of RAM is sufficient but Graphics Card barely can make it run.

GF9300GS has a fill rate of 2.2 GP/s and 4.5 GT/s.

to run the game without lagging you need something at least equal or above GF7800GT, GF8600GT, GF9500GT, GF GT220. [4.5GP/s 8.5GT/s]

DiRT games utilizes multi-core CPUs so Dual or Quad core is recommended.

GF 8800GS, 9800GT or GTS 250 is recommended for better gameplay experience.

I can agree that the damage engine is good but it is far from being perfect. I didn't notice this before but when you mentioned about it I think that you have got a point. Burnout Paradise is an example of the game with better engine where cars actually force themselves onto crashed objects or cars and they push them away.

For that you need quite powerful computer and preferably Dual-Core CPU a lot of RAM and two HDDs.

screen recording software bottlenecks PC by half fps.

recorded fragments has been cut using VirtualDub and joined together using movie maker
