We have the right to know wats goin on around us I'm always interested in the news but ours never seem to finish wat they start they had a article about 8 soldiers being buried in one grave but that's all this is something serious could it be that more soldiers are dyin in Iraq then we know about I would like to get some kind of closure to this
People don't believe in global warming anymore, and why should a network dedicate time to a communistic prosject which 'global warming' politics allways is about?
Russian news is impressive. They talk fast and focused on every subject and category being talked about all over the world, not just a fraction, including daily actions of the PM's motives.Who wouldn't want to know what thier PM is doing on a daily basis? and ofcourse his accomplishments. Whereas, unlike i.e the UK news, they talk simple-mindedly and towards unecessary celebrity garbage that is heavily elongated, similarly to the US. whats the point! it destroys a sense of scholary.
the news completely ignored afghanistan from 2003 to late 2008. but after iraq started to die down and the steady flow of caskets stopped, suddenly afghanistan was the only thing to talk about. americans are fucking disgusting.
I am living in the Netherlands. Things are a lot better over here!. We do look outside our own borders. On the other hand, we have to because we are so small -:)
and yet we still have onesided information. we think it's better because we don't know any better. do you remember the murder of pim fortuyn and theo van gogh? can you remember that for weeks the news kept showing it? or more recent; joran.... it's better than the US, but how much? everybody allways forgets to look at themselves
and also leading fellow relatives and friends whom i've persuaded to also take a listen to PRI, and open a whole new door intellectually in their lives
i congratulate this video. after watching this video maybe half a year ago, i started listening to public radio international, particuarly "the world". It opened up a whole new spectrum of international news that i yearned for, but never knew was there. PRI then led to all other kinds of public radio, and then finally the big one...the BBC. I would say i am now more globally informed than i was 6 months ago. Thanks PRI for leading me down this road...
This was excellent!!! Living in Canada I have a hard time watching American Media. Unfortunately it' has headed in the direction of infotainment for awhile now. And it is sad that even here to see the number of foreign corespondents drop over the years. I guess that's where Public Radio shows it's strength. CBC, BBC...etc.
But this is not only on America, in other countries, they do it as well and that saddens me. Sometimes I think that the media doesn't do it's work properly, since it's supposed to connect the whole World, instead, it is just keeping it apart, by making countries trapped in their own "system"...
As it says, From 37% to 52%.I hardly think thats saying Americans don't care. You all so have to take in to consideration that the majority of non-U.S. medias spoon feed there own countries negative propaganda about the U.S. It's so much easyer for a country to place blame then to take responceablity for the mistreatment of it's own people......If you don't believe me, heres a test of your own country. Google civil libraries, hopefully you can open those pages. If not your government block you.
Interesting how despite such overblown coverage of Iraq, only 63% of American 18-24 year olds can identify Iraq on a map. 9 out of 10 cannot locate Afghanistan. So much for the old joke that the reason Americans start wars is so that they can learn geography.
