Do you hear the heart? Do you not hear the heart of those desperate times? This is a victorious heart that war couldn't silence! And child...nothing ever will. That is what I want my children to know is real music!
Was curious about the nitwit who thinks Pet can't still sing. Account closed. How apropos. I've heard plenty of artists who shouldn't still be singing, Pet's not one! Sing on, Pet ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Oh, how lovely. I know Petula sang for the troops when she was a girl. I'm sure there are a few people in that audience who remember her from that time. " Soldier on...."
the beauty of this video is having someone like Petula who was there help all of us remember it as to her voice, yes she isn't in her twenties or thirties but that last note held effortlessly reveals her enduring talent.oh btw she is about the best concert performer i've ever seen.
Petula Clark is recognised as one of the great live performers. Click on at watch her perform at Montreux Jazz Festival last year - guest if Quincy Jones. Watch her duet with Paulo Nuttini - you should change your mind
Petula Clark must surely be one of the greatest if not the greatest female singer of all time. Add to her incredible singing, acting, writing, composing and you have a lady of PURE CLASS. Good on you Petula, you have countless number of fans in Australia.
I always thought that when she really was truly an international star, after "Downtown" and throught the rest of the 60's, she was much more popular in Europe, the US, Canada,
S. Africa, Australia and places in between, but not nearly as popular in the UK. At the time,I think Dusty Springfield was and still is who the Brits think of when the subject is THE lady singer of the 60's. Anyway, it's just a theory.
Petula sang this very well, how cruel the last post was, she is 75 and has been singing for over 60 years. her last note is wonderful,Bravo Pet long may you continue, her voice is almost as good as it was all those years ago.

I used to think Pet Clarke was a great singer. She was. Was is the operative word. Someone should tell her that sadly, her voice has gone. She's out of tune, out of time, and nervous. Probably because she knows she doesn't have it anymore. This is awful. I hope she was doing this for charity, because if she took money for it, she should be ashamed. I appreciate, she can't help it if time has robbed her of her talent, but she should be aware of it.
She was NOT out of tune, and NOT out of time, and of course she was nervous, who wouldn't be? Petula still has it in spades. I've seen her in concert recently in Scotland, England and France, and each time she has brought the place down, standing ovations, fans queueing for autographs. There were fans who had come from Cote D'Ivoire at one show. Yes, she's 76 and of course her voice isn't what it was when she was 21. But listen to that last note and tell me what was wrong with it.
Pet is wonderful. But, I'd love to see Anita O'Day's rendition. It was her greatest ballad, and I requested it whenever I could get to her performances.
petula was born in epsom surrey very close to me. she was known as the "british shirley temple" and my dad used to play the pianno for her as he worked at the "ordnance survey" in chessington !
Where are you dear madam ? I remember of you when I was a child. You had great success in France during the 70's. I hope that you are still enjoying life anywhere it can be. Sincerely yours.
Lovely. Just lovely. Wish I'd been there.

Vera was wonderful. Petula was very good. I saw her in SUNSET BLVD. and she was great there too. She's fine live, she just has too much to live up to.
I'm teaching my 2 and 4 year old to love her music too. It's an easy job.

"But I'm perfectly willing to swear".
.
She is swearing - with her voice into my ears.
Maybe she should take off that Dominatrix collar. It sounds like a strangled baby duck.

This is bad. Very bad. Ms Clark is a studio singer. Never been good on stage. Hurts my ears.

Grrr, too much rubato. It would have been really nice if she didn't pull her phrasing around too much.
