  • You forgot to add the sugar puffs...and you're right about the gloves when chopping chillis, I learned the hard way. Kids...always rubber up.

  • Are those green chillies what are known as 'finger' chillies i.e. the really hot ones, rather than just the milder, plain green type? The skin texture certainly suggests this. I once made a chilli dip using 20 of those and it was lethal. However, they weren't cooked for anywhere near as long as here so maybe that makes a difference. You can almost smell the fear, can't you? I love this stuff (and lime pickle) with 'pops' as a starter.
