Russia and China were the only members of the UNSC (temporary and permanent combined) to vote no on this. Both of them have veto power, so such a resolution that allows for military intervention into Syria was vetoed just this week.

Secondly hundreds of thousands of Jews were expelled from Arab lands who were living there for thousands of years. @SayNoToTheism As for the 1967 war, yes Israel took over the Gaza and West Bank, but the Palestintean Liberation Organisation waformed in 1962-3, years before this war. Israel at the time did not have any Palestinean territory or Arab territory, the Golan and Sheba Farms, Sinai, West Bank, and Gaza all were taken during the 1967 war, which was well after the PLO formed with the goal of killing all Jews and destroying Israel.

Egypt de facto was in a state of war with Israel, and US failure at getting Egypt to ease the blockade of Eilat (via the blocking of Straits of Tiran) combined with Nassers roars of pushing Israel into the sea caused the war.
If Nasser and egypt didn't say they would push Israel to sea, no war.

The large scale Arab migration occured into the Levant at the same time the large scale Jewish migration occured. The houses were left and Arabs left mostly of their own free will due to them not wanting to live near Jews.
