One expert who spoke at the United Nations estimates that up to 200 million women and girls are missing worldwide because of sex-selective abortion and female infanticide.
How do you figure that people who have a pro-life viewpoint are in the minority?
People can be pro-life without being Christian.
It's not all about Christianity. For some people, it is just wrong in their minds to terminate a life, and this belief has nothing to do with religion for them.
And since I'm assuming you are male based upon you name (excuse me if you are female), I don't think you can understand what it's like for a woman to experience having an abortion.
Accidents can happen though and sometimes women get pregnant when they do not want to, Abortions around to stay folks like it or not as you are in the minority and for good reason.
So put your faith aside and get with the times as i'm going to assume that the majority of people her are Christians: The standard in good morals and ethics throughout the ages... maybe not eh? lol...
I have always felt that abortion is not a choice - it is a necessity for women because there is no other alternative. You are told by professionals that if you DON'T choose abortion, you will live in poverty, you will grow up to resent the baby and you will ruin your life and the life of those around you. Most horrifying is that women are still told it is THEIR problem only - when are we going to start realizing that babies don't manifest in the uterus out of no where? It is a MEN'S issue too!
as a student i am depressed by the casual attitudes toward abortion that i observe on campus. pretending abortion is just a procedure is a serious disservice to women b/c it is so haunting.
Banning abortion does not stop it; I've talked to too many grieving family members who have lost their loved ones to illegal, back alley abortions. These women were so desperate they consented to have their privates ripped apart with knives, coat hangers, etc. Only by improving economic conditions and attitudes can abortion be stopped; not by depriving women of control over their own bodies.
@authoress1 Yea, like we are telling women how long their skirts should be. Like we are telling them which bathing suit they can put on at a beach. Like we are telling them wether or not to get a piercing. We are not controlling EVERY aspect of a woman's body, just b/c we disagree with ONE bad choice. Stop the propaganda!
"right to choose" is a euphamism for being allowed to legally kill our children. Women don't require the ability to legally murder their children in order to be men's equals. Not choosing murder should make us better than men.
How can you, in pretty much the same breath say, "well, things should be done to keep abortion from happening", implying that it is in fact a bad thing that shouldn't be done, and then go on to say that you should still be able to do it? Why should these things be done to make abortion more rare if it is so necessary and good? Abortion hurts women-ALL women, and WE don't need it.
Powerful statement when she said " I underestimated myself when I had an abortion I could have ahieved all those things if I had chosen to parent my child or placed my child for adoption" The abortion industry is a multibillion dollar industry paid with the blood of our children - Our land is polluted and cries out for justice.
great presentation...congratulations for your wonderful life...great things will happen in your future...My hope is that Pres.-elect Obama would get a chance to see this....

@authoress1 The best control a women can have over her own body is to either abstain from the act or use contraceptives.

Less social stigma, better workplace options, and more support for single mothers... all good things, but don't take away my right to choose...
