Harold Bloom was surprised by an interviewer witha Whitman recording, which he deemed an appalling reading before being told it was Whitman. These Stevens recordings are a treasure and must be preserved. Too bad for Dr. Bloom and the rest of us there's nothing extant for Hart Crane. It would have been a true voice of romanticism in the 21st century.
