I know this feeling I get from this song. I was moved to tears at their show recently because of the loss of a loved one. I know how you come to sitting graveside talking to them letting them know that they are not lost that you remember them. That the years pass and that you were made a better person because of them. This song makes me remember the loss of several family members as well as one Love that was claimed by the sea. Bittersweet. Beautiful.

the timing of this song is particularly difficult but it makes it beautiful. and the way he sings at an andante tempo with the rhythm at a faster tempo is amazing. he makes the song sound calming and legato but if you simply listen to the music, it's much more upbeat than it sounds when you listen to the song as a whole.

My favorite VNV song, so far. I met and worked with Ronan once, doing video for a DVD release. He let me mix in my own stuff before and after the viewing of the VNV stuff, as he DJ'd. He was a genuine, gracious, and generally cool guy who appreciated his fans so much that he stood out front of the club from 2am closing until sunrise just chillin and chattin with maybe ten of us. But Ronan, you still owe me a t-shirt, dude. :)
