  • please reply to me.i have a bunch of cpu's and i dont know how to disolve the plated gold and make it into gold powder like you have here.i watched your reverse electro plating video and after the gold is off of the chains what happens next?do you just let the liquid evaporate and you are just left with gold dust (gold powder).how do u get it into that state.

  • It is fun to watch the flame ionize and give all those cool colors... boron gives a green and the Gold itself. Just like the kraft cheese commercial "liquid goooooooooooooooooooooolololollllllld"

  • Will this process work with gold jewelery and bullion as well as gold dust?

  • @jmk1226 Yes.

  • Boric acid is borax. The only purpose borax serves is to allow the molten metal to move around easier in the melting dish and flow when pouring. The only impurities that borax will possibly hold are organic impurities like dirt. You CANNOT simply add borax and rid yourself of unwanted metals. Metals cannot separate in layers (sinking and floating) like many believe. If you want get your gold to a higher purity you must refine it with some type of wet process.

  • @metalicmario That quiet something !! I use Boric Acid in my shoos to kill bacteria ( Since 9 years now... not every day but once every 6 months .. the shoos and feet are totally without smell.) . It is like a grandmother medicine .. I will call it Borax from now on. Thank you for the video !!!

  • @sattanhellsing Its true. Boric acid has many many uses. Go on wikipedia and look for boric acid to see some of its uses. One of them is in the production of nuclear power!

  • Execellent videos, thanks.

I have gold flakes and small nuggets that I got from crushing specimen and then panning the crush repeatedly. I estimate that what I have is 85-90% pure gold. I read that if you have impurities you should mix the crush and borax 50-50. Do you think I need to do that with what I have? Also, I have boric acid rather than borax. Are there any special considerations around using boric acid rather than borax? Thank you.

    Garry

  • I have been searching for something of this nature for some time. Thank you for the vid.

  • All the equipment in the video was under $100. The gold powder is from scrap gold that I refined.

  • @metalicmario how much did it cost for the equitment and how much did you pay for the gold powder

  • If you have gold with impurities, use the same process but mix gold and borax 50/50 (some add a bit of soda ash too). The additive(s) act as a flow agent (flux) causing the impurities to float up on top of the molten gold. Then once cool you can just tap with a hammer to break off the layer of impurities (slag). Good luck and be safe!!

  • Thank you for sharing your knowledge

  • looks like fried chicken

  • what is the Dish you using???? to melt in ???

  • would propane work as well?

  • @cDog8766 Propane alone will not work well if at all. A propane/acetylene setup will however work very well.

  • @metalicmario why not just use acetylene itself, seeing that it's the hottest buring gas, wouldn't that save time ? also, how are you able to remove the slag / impurities ?

  • @sr71ablackbird You're correct. An acet/oxy rig like the one in my silver shooting video would definately melted faster. I used the Mapp gas torch for simplicity's sake. The sponge in the video is twice refined gold. There are no impurities to worry about.

  • @sr71ablackbird combine the acetyl and oxygen and you get a much more intense burn.

  • is he fucking cooking fried chicken?!

  • you made almost 6,000 bucks right there

  • @USMCSergeant00 When you make your gold melt and pour video let me know and I will take notes.

  • /watch?v=HChoJzrhCB0

  • it looks like chicken nuggets!! mmmmmm...gold chicken nuggets...grhahhrhahah.

  • thumbs up if you love watching these kind of videos but never actually do them. :D

  • @greenymaco thumbs up if you hate when ppl say "thumbs up"

  • Nice instructional video. Thanks!

  • where did you get the gold?

  • How long did it take to melt the gold?

  • where can I get mapp gas? and will my regular propane torch head fit and work with it? do you think Walmart would have Mapp?

  • @wilbeckj Home Depot or Lowes. I would get a map gas torch head. Both stores sell the head and a tank just like the one in the video as a kit. Make sure you get the TS8000 as it has an adjustment knob. Walmart doesn't carry these items.

  • @metalicmario I bought one the night the I commented, I had couple ounces of gold and my regular propane torch wouldn't melt it all, I ran to the store and bought it lol

  • @metalicmario nice video but can i melt old jewellery

  • @kokosam1959 Of course.

  • Do I need to use an oxygen tank with the map gas, or just the map gas by itself?

  • @55mikeburns You can use MAPP gas or an oxygen setup. An oxygen setup will melt much faster. MAPP gas does not get used with oxygen however.

  • Is this safe to do with a 3200 degree blowtorch and a crucible that can't withstand over like 2400?

  • @StabOfMyVenom Well. No. If the crucible is only rated for 2400 degrees then it would not be save to melt at 3200 degrees with it.

  • @metalicmario but if im only melting gold wouldn't the gold melt well before the crucible would break?

  • @StabOfMyVenom I just wouldn't try it. Would you want the the crucible to crack and spill your gold all over the place? Or even worse spill on you?

  • Why didn't you show the pour? That would have been the best part.

  • @Yaz319 Yes the batteries in the camera ran out. Quite disappointing!

  • Those look like copperplates(fossilized dinosaur poop)

  • @1zacster it's coprolite, copper plates are metal plates made from copper, a coprolite is any fecal matter or other organic waste that has become mineralized or fossilized

  • @drewnickel you know what i meant but thx for the info =D

  • Thanks for the info and link.

  • Hey Noxx is this your video? This is Mike aka husker4515 on GRF. What do you use to make your gold powder clump up like that?

  • @husker4515 Not Noxx. Go to this thread to learn how to clump your gold. Its actually not that difficult.

replace the word dot with "." in the url

  • may i buy one and how much?

  • You just aquire and process things here and there and before you know it you have a decent amount. The gold in this video is from a whole bunch of sources. Gold filled jewelry, karated jewelry, plated jewelry, computer scrap etc.

  • How long did it take to collect that amount? And what have You used as the source?
