  • Nice!!!...

  • TIGHT!!!!

  • yup it that is a hip hop groove. pretty sure it was on a 50 album.....awhile back

  • leute wie du bringen mich dazu weiter zu üben ! :D

  • oldest beat in history.

  • It looks like you're using 2 rides. Sweet cymbal sound. What's your setup?

  • Love the snare sound! what model is it?

  • @TatoArtavia: Ludwig 14"x5.5" Birch Snare w. 8 lugs.

  • Why would you not use any protection for your ears?

  • @Kiddowesth I always use ear protection. You just don't see it because they are in my ears. They are called Elacin 15.

  • @uwepetersen Thank god for that! Was surprised at first to see someone who loves to play that much and then not use any protection. Keep playing!

  • I always use ear protection. You just don't see it because they are in my ears. They are called Elacin 15.

  • @uwepetersen I'm getting the same ones next week :). Great groove man!

  • hey yall

  • damn, shows what you can do with even a small setup. sexy snare sound

  • sexy ass snare briotha

  • heard some James Brown "Mother Popcorn" in there. nice!

  • I don't know if this is a odd question or not. But with the 6500 hihatstand, is there room to have a dualpedal. Apparently my bigband likes my dual-rolls. Haha, no. But Since its a flush base stand It would look killer next to my 66 ludwigs and my other gibraltar flush stands (My current vintage sonor stand has taken a beating over the years. Haha)

    /Jerry

  • @JerryBeatFreak: Unfortunately with the Flat base Hihat stand you don't have room for a double pedal. You can try it, but it would be very uncomfortable to play the left pedal.

  • hi my name is george slupick and im going to play this cymbal and its available for purchase at mycymbal.com

  • @HiMyNameIsRyan56: Ha ha haaaaa

  • Wow... I started playing drums 1 year ago and i think im going pretty well but i have to say that your snare is awesome! I just bought used mapex saturn kit which is like 2500 euros but i got it for 900 euros, my snare sounded so awesome and perfect but my drums are in garage and cold september came, now all heads sound like crap.

  • sounds like the fatback groove...

  • awesome man!! LOVE it.

  • i just love that snaresound.

  • Uh yeah,ok,can you play with other people?

  • i spend the whole video gurning. that was some sick stuff right there xD

  • Breakbeat type ish bro, I dig it! B)

  • Would you say your batter head is tight or a bit on the loose side? And the res as well. I love the sound of your snare.

  • my batter head is medium tight and the resonant side tight.

  • my batter head is medium tight and the resonant side is tight.

  • dude you look exactly like george slupik

  • @TheBeatleDrummer: NO O'M NOT.

  • @uwepetersen Its true though, very similar.

  • hey man you don't have any toms.

    :)

  • thats kinda on the funk side but i guess it could be somewhat hip hop

  • WHOA WAIT YOUR THE GUY FROM MEMPHIS DRUM SHOP!!! dan sluppik? or something..... you look like him.

  • @willshiznit86

No I'm NOT George Sluppick from Memphis. I am Uwe Petersen from Germany.

  • @uwepetersen okay hah sorry u just really look like him right here with the hat and glasses. and u guys sorta play alike

  • You can definitely tell which comments are from intelligent drummers and which ones come from Travis Barker clones/wannabe's. Haha.

    Nice groove though Uwepetersen

  • HEy buddy awesome playing, just a question about the 18x14 how do you think it woild hold up unmic'd in a funk setting

  • Cool stuff man..........................

  • Wow you have such great chops. You could make any kit sound good.

  • to much ride. it was just continous ride'age noise lol.

  • were the groove?

  • if i play a left side ride on the right, will it still work? LOLZ for this and more funny jokes see my video page! i enjoyed your playing mr. petersen

  • Very catchy!

  • more groove less wank

  • Great!!!

  • what kind of snare and kick was that? love the sounds. you're good man.

  • Yeah, that was pretty awesome I've got to say. Strange cymbal setup though: but in a good way; it sounded cool.

  • How the hell was that messy?

  • lol it was messy??

  • It sounds like the Dennis Chamber's fat back groove but played on a ride cymbal!

  • thats funny cuz i made the same beat the day before you posted this.... LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • Let's see it or hear it.

    thanks for watching.

  • @joemontana111

And what are you trying to say with that?

Anyways, really nice, it has a really cool groove to it, and you played it very well.

  • @joemontana111 Yeah nobody really cares at all. You should've posted this that day or something. But you seem like a real idiot trying to claim ownership over a groove.

  • Dude your awsoome on the drum's mann

  • it's jazzy but loud and metal-ish at the same time. i like it; its sort of an interesting style.

  • hey man. i like your style. I am trying to buy a K custom special dry ride... how do you feel about yours? and also, how do you like the left side ride? Im trying to incorperate a little more dry, dirty sound into my drumming... and so far i really like how those two sound. let me know please...

    -mw

  • Thanks man, I really dig my two special dry and left side rides, they are in deed very dry. But I have to say after a while it's nice to have a more washy sounding cymbal to ride on. To get a more dirty sound in your set up I definitely would recommend the K-Custom Special Dry series, also check out the K-high definition Ride's.

Good luck in your search for the right sound.

  • Please post a video of you playing when you found your cymbal.

  • I agree nice snare sound. Thick sounding with crack. Most people tune too high and it sounds thin but few know how to get a crisp and fat sound

  • Very nice work, and awesome snare.

BTW, you look like the guy of the real hustle :-P

  • Thanks dude, I am the REAL HUSTLE lol lol lol

  • WOOOOOOOOO. Lovin' the rolls! Hot Dam!

  • Sorry dude thats not hip....

  • ^^haha this faggots hating when he has no videos of himself doing anything..people like this need to stay out of music..closed eared imbecile.

keep up the great work man, never thought id say this being the sabian fan that i am but those K's sound beautiful man and as for that snare, tuned to perfection.

    Tony the Drummer

  • Thanks Tony,

hip or not hip that is in eye of the beholder bud I agree only people with videos of there own should be able to criticize on youtube.

  • well said sir. i just got done subscribing man, keep the good vids coming.

if you have the time later id really appreciate it if you could give me some pointers on my playing.

    Tony

  • Very nice ...You groove like Stanton Moore .

  • Thank you for this awesome compliment, I appreciate it.

  • Oh my god....your technique is so tasteful, not to mention your impeccable choice in equipment; it doesn't get much better than a Ludwig kit and a set of K's. And of course you don't need to be reminded of your phenomenal snare tuning.

  • how do you get your snare sound?

  • I really enjoy your technique

  • also Pinewood makes a great point.....

you should do a vid about how you tune your snare....

having tuned countless drums with you, I really believe you do something different and special, when tuning

  • HAHA!! hey buddy!!! sounds great,,,,, man can't seem to catch you on skype!!! log on when you get a chance....

  • i want that snare sound

  • saaaaame

  • yeah that's like the perfect sound

  • you know you could change ur snare sound... by trying diferent skin

  • Dont know whats the dealio with the mic. But the ride kinda steals some of your crazy groove. Maybe its just on the video.

    GREAT playing though.

  • It's the mice of the Canon Powershot SD 870 cameras.

For such a small camera it delivers an amazing sound I think.

  • This guy is amazing

  • Hey man this is killler.. love your style . im working on a few grooves right now even though im stuck playing country and rock bands to make the bills on time.. I know you probably get asked a lot but how do you have your snare tuned in this video? it is superb! please let me know! keep up the good work man.. cheers, Trent

  • The Snare is a 5"x14" Ludwig birch 8 lug snare with coated Remo Ambassador head tuned medium high with one peace of moon gel in the 11 a clock position.

The resonant head is tightened much higher than the top!

  • nice!

its pretty amazing what you can

do with..... that small of a budget,

    but you made it amazing.

  • Damn that was sick goes to show u that u dont have to have this use neil pert drum set to be kick ass

  • Secondo me è meglio un Groove più lento....e magari per riempirlo aggiungi qualche trentaduesimo sul charleston...così...me è un parere...comunque nel suo che non è male...:-)

  • cosa?

  • I would love to see you do some slow groove :)

  • where was the groove? you mean the funk groove at the very end?

  • respect!

  • i think this guy is great. solid tight groove.

  • Dude, it says "A Hip Groove" not a Hip Hop groove.

Learn how to read before you give comments like this.

    Thanks

  • Awesome man. Love watching a drummer who can groove on such a small kit.

  • While this was some bad ass shit, I would not call it a hip hop groove at all. When I think hip hop I think of something I could bust a flow to. Which was not this. However, that was some bad ass drumming.

  • He did not write hip hop groove but hip groove. That meens he finds it cool.

  • Oh shit you're right.

  • haha nice

  • The great sound of Ludwig. The snare and bass sound superb.

  • holy crap man your fast at beggining!

  • good going man this is very good

  • I suppose that was rather "hip"

  • i think "slammin" would have been another adjective, haha when i saw "hip" i thought you were lay down a phat groove so thats what i expected.

  • are you using 2 rides?

  • Proberly.. Or a very big crash that also funcyions as a ride to a lesser extent

  • yes hes using 2 rides... its in the description

  • That is a killer sounding snare! What kind/size is it??

  • LUDWIG LRP514EC(40) 5x14" Classic Birch Snare Drum (Natural)
