Very impressive! Makes me want to get mine down to the dyno. I'm from Knoxville as well, I have a 1992 with a DIY GT2560R + Megasquirt setup. Usually run it around 14psi so I'd be thrilled to put down the numbers you did. Have you taken yours to the 1/8mile? I 'd be very curious as to what it would run. The best I could get out of mine was 9.2@88. I'm a terrible drag racer though, I'm sure you could beat that by a second or two!
@YourMother88 Thank you! It sounds like you have an awesome car that would make great power too. I highly recommend the folks in this video for a local dyno. They were very professional and have great equipment. I went to the local 1/8 mile (with the new setup) on some old autocross tires but only made one run due to unbelievable wheel hop. It's weird because I've never had any on the street. It really takes a set of small slicks to hook and absorb the shock. Good luck with your car!
very very nice numbers on such a simple set up! love how clean it is. really compliments the car and how purty it is on the outside awell. one question...is that ecu a direct plug in or was there fabrication with the harness to make it work?
@Damarice07 Thank you! The ECU is not a direct plug in and required harness fabrication. For a great plug in ECU solution, check out the Megasquirt Plug&Play.
@mazdarunner Thank you! It is an Ebay straight T3 50trim turbo that was from the vendor "GodSpeed" They can be found on there today, although the prices continue to creep up.
How do you like your new wheel and tire setup? I've got 17" on mine and I love the way it looks. But not in love with the way it rides. Considering dropping down to 15's or 16's like yours.
Wow! I didn't think the stock 1.6 could handle that much power! This completely changes my view of my 91! I'm sure you had to upgrade the diff though.
@MyOpinionMatterss These cars love boost in bone stock form! That said, this amount of power isn't uncommon on a turbo 1.6. Check out the MiataTurbo forums to see many similar examples. The diff is still stock, but I do plan to upgrade it soon.

@younkin1 I absolutely love the new setup! The ride is great and the grip is incredible compared to my old stuff.

I love how clean the engine bay is. Does that fluttering sound mean there's something wrong with the BOV or is that normal?
MyOpinionMatterss 11 months ago
@MyOpinionMatterss Thanks! That fluttering is the normal sound the Tial BOV makes when venting just a little boost.
