hers a funny story for you guys, group of crotch rockets, riding slow on the university showing off for women by revvin. i pass them in my truck and one speeds up next to me and doesnt allow me to get back on the right side, so i cut him off. he speeds by me and smashes my mirror with his fist. i saw him on the interstate that night and he tried showin off by brake checkin me thinkin i was going to stop. needless to say, he has nothing to show off with now. i almost felt bad.
Sorry dude but getting almost hit was your fault. There was NO WAY that guy could have seen you coming from the right side. The general rule is "if you cant see his mirrors he cant see you"
Damn dude, tailgate more. I know you like to zip out there, but you just have to be patient sometimes. That Civic driver was a shithead, though. I'll give you that.
When you speeding, you don't give a chance to the guy to realize you are there. They even might see you in the right mirror but they don't expect you to arrive in their arses that quick.
A real good approach for a biker is to consider his/herself to be invisible. And the more you're driving over the average traffic speed, the the more invisible you get.
I think what helps is to develop a predictible style. Plus you continuously have to try to figure what may happen. Foreseeing the traffic moves.
If you're speeding, you have to "read" the traffic and be prepared to aviod getting into situations like this.
The car (or truck) driver usually has a limited view on the right hand side. He expects you to overtake mostly from left, and he has to be given the time to realize that you are there.
And this is no longer about traffic rules when you're riding a bike. This is about rules of survival. Experience. Everyone makes mistakes.
He wasn't going that fast. The civic should be fucking paying attention instead of probably texting like a fool while driving. Nice braking control there.
It was also the biker's fault, I've always heard you should "pretend you're invisible" while riding - he MIGHT have had the right of way or whatever but who is going to win? The CAR most of the time...
Speeding is fine, when you do it where things like this can't happen. And pass like you are supposed to. If you are in a tin can you can get away with it, but on a bike? Nice braking though, good control there.
if you drive/ride differently to what drivers expect, they will not have the observation skills/techniques to see you. when the expect you to be somewhere after doing a shoulder check, you will, instead already be upon them. people are lazy, so its a good idea to give them what they expect.

No, dipshit- what's really "funny" is how you read just like one of those "out-of-control teens" on The Maury Show. "Whatevuh!! WHATEVUH!! I do whut I want!! If I wanna' be ignorant...that's MY business!" Why don't you go read a book and flunk a fucking test, you goddamn rapestain?
is a ninja 250 able to make an hour and a half trip on the interstate? im considering getting one and this is the longest ill have to ride it on an interstste and to have it up to highway speeds.
The Civic at least signaled before making that lane change - if you didnt drive like a total retard at high speeds in a residential area - you might actually have spotted the guy in time. You drive like a doos through-out the video - so dont bitch if you speed and then dont see a car making a completely legal lane change. Crap Video btw - boring as hell and poor quality. I think you should consider walking rather.
Totally agree with you, riding like this may be "fun", but its the riders fault for driving so fast. Its hard enough to be seen on a bike going regular speeds, cruise like this for long and it's only a matter of time till you get smacked.
This is a nice video of HOW NOT TO RIDE a motorbike. Go and get the MSF course...if you did...it seems you did not learn anything. May GOD bless you and drive safe, for GOD's sake
im a huge Metallica fan but ST. Anger is a horrible album...... thats just my opinion and why were still on my opinion, if a person wants a 250 dont complain, you didnt buy it. if you want a R1 or busa go ahead but dont rag on the guy with a 250. different person different tastes
driver from behind is at fault, because he didnt give way to the mad woman/hermaphrodite in the civic and he woulda planted her from behind hence his fault. OOT OOT
It was a combination of both of your faults. You were coming up really fast in the far right lane and didn't even see the civic until you were passing that white van so that probably means the civic had a very hard time seeing you. Slow your driving down so other can at least see you coming.
i totally agree that it wasn't your fault, yes i would have followed that person and gave them a serious ass whompingbecause yet again another fuckface dosent pay attention to gthe road. but man you follow way too close and drive too fast in bad areas...slow down
This guy needs some experience. Don't say thanks for watching at the end of the video, if your head wasn't up your butt you would have seen that coming, you also wouldn't have passed on the right, passed too close to another vehicle, or kept to the left to avoid potential problems. 7 years here, how bout u?
+1 you gotta be expecting that stuff, as fast as you were going in that lane it leaves very little room for time to react when things like that happen. You're lucky you caught it when it happened and not before he already moved into your lane. Passing on the right, bad idea... Ride to arrive.. always.
Thats not entirely correct. A lot of these car drivers are oblivious to the fact that cars are not the only vehicles on the roads. Many of these car drivers forget to take into consideration that they are also sharing the road with bike riders as well thus, if they do look for traffic, they only look out for cars and not bikes.
yeah man people in cars are so dumb when they cant see a little 250cc ninja that appears out of nowhere using the right lane as a passing lane near an exit.
you can't fully blame the civic rider on this one, keep your distance (you tailed that montero like you were tied to it) and don't pass on the right.
It's not a hard formula, if you were on the track it'd be different, but you aren't, you're on the street and even you have to share it with the cars.
/went down last week after getting cut off at an intersection
Yup...that's a tough one! Damn drivers never look over their shoulder's before changing lanes. BUT...that's why we learn defensive driving 101. Slow down when approaching intersections! Good on ya for watching for it and avoiding the crash though!!!
Cool video but don't take personal offense to this. That's a prime example why trucks and busses have those big signs on the back that say 'do not pass on right'. Passing lane is to the left because blind spots are too big on the right. I could see how he might not have seen you as you passed the side of the montero with your needle pinned at what looks like around 70 mph. I'm not saying this to be a jerk. I do care about you riding safe.
It honestly doesnt even matter what speed your going, bike riders practically get run over like that all the time because car drivers are in thier own little world... Im a new rider and I was in the left lane doin about 5 over, and some jackass in a chevy(big f'n suprise) practically killed me in a no signal lane change. I try not to ride next to people at all anymore, even if it means speeding.
Thats why certain streets aren't meant for HIGH speeds!
