i didnt read any of the comments i just feel like speaking my mind because hes using a lot of different kind of theory lingo and if anyone is listening going like oh ma gawd i cant play guitar because i dont know theory, a lot of really good guitar players cant even read sheet music
and if you're subscribed to him or whatever(and get his videos) he does explain a lot of the theory.
And if you told the really good guitar players how to read the staff, they could do it. reading music and music theory help each other but aren't necessary to have one another. ex, I can read music but I suck(ed) at theory...
Have u noticed....Any guitar instructional lesson, When showing the most simplest version of a guitar part....They just cant seem to Not give it Vibrato lol,I do the same thing, out of sheer habit. But I notice no matter who it is,note by note even, the last note they give it Vibrato :p
Yo ! Dan, you must of have been reading my mind. I was saying all my solos sound the same I need something new and diffrent to add to my playing and solos, besides useing the same old position. Dan thanks for helping me take my guitar to another level. ( You Da Man ) Peace out!!
I like the fingerboard closeups! I wish all videos were this clear. There seems to be an echo on the hammer ons and pull-offs, unless there is a delay or I am hearing things!
3/4 means 3 quarter notes in one measure;6/8 means 6 eight notes in one measure...which is almost the same but you use different rhytm patterns ex.:in 6/8 when you see a eight note, you play it as quarter note while in 3/4 when you see an eight note you just play an eight.....excuse me if I'm wrong
i can't follow him, any tabs ?
good lesson !

Hey Dan, ths is Josh. Very creative on your part, n very well explained as always

Theory helps a lot with this kind of stuff. Once you learn theory and take some lessons with improvisation, licks won't be at all important.
But, that doesn't mean that licks aren't a good way to start improvising!

True, but with vibrato it always sounds nice, you can't go wrong when using vibrato, ofcourse that's just my humble opinion :)

Denly's style is unique. I own his lead guitar course and I highly recomend it. My playing changed dramatically and quickly with his dvd's.

can anyone explain the difference between 3/4 time and 6/8 time. are they not basicly the same?
KizMonkey69 4 years ago
Basically yeah, but 3/4 means that the bar has 3 crotchets and 6/8 means it has 6 quavers, eight notes. There are minimal differences in the sound.
zappo987 3 years ago

no you're on. I also do 6/8 as: one and ah, two and ah as well as 123456 or 1 and, 2 and, 3 and, 4 and, 5 and, 6 and. This way I vary speed depending.
