Personally, I really like both Jason and Roger. They each sound very natural, exhibit a range of emotions, and really strived to make the character their own. I have to say though, I think I like Roger just a little bit more, if for no other reason than how mature he makes Sonic; an indication that the character is growing up, and therefore seems more relatable and lifelike. Either way, I'd much prefer either of them to Ryan. He was ok, but he was pretty much a one trick pony. Just my 2 cents

When Jason started out, I didn't think he was a good choice for Sonic. His voice just didn't really suit the character. But over time, he got much better. I thought he was an excellent voice for Sonic by the time Unleashed and the Black Knight came around. It's just too bad he got fired at his peak. But I think Roger is also an excellent voice actor for Sonic. His voice really fits the laid-back and comedic attitude of Sonic in Colors and Generations. Hope he's around for a long time.

@SaturnTrack Jason wasn't fired. His contract was up. That's why he and the rest of the 4Kids cast left. The only who stayed on was Mike Pollock (Eggman) because he's a studio executive. Btw, I think he and Roger are both. Certainly better than Ryan who was almost monotone at times. Just my opinion

Lets go back to 2005 when the 4kids voice actors were first announced. Everyone, HATED GRIFFITH! They said, worse sonic voice EVAR! Then he gets fired, GRIFFITH RULES bets voice ever. Roger Sucks! TBH, Sonic's not exactly a teenager anymore. He makes his own rules still, but he's growing older, and so should his voice. The change to Roger Craig 'Da Firenze' Smith is symbolic to the change in pitch of Sora from KH1 to KH2. It represents them cutting all ties from the old serious series and embracing a new, fun-loving Sonic.

@reaperofthedamned07 Sonic has been a teenager ever since 1991 (As far as game series goes). While the series is 20 years old, Sonic has never aged in the games. Sora is a different type of character, he makes physical and emotional changes across the games and not just through his voice. Sonic did have different game models of course but he's also remained the same character wise. Sonic always shows a few times of seriousness but everyone knows him for his reckless and cocky behaviour.

@DoctorSonic1 That was his orginal concept yes but Naoto Ōshima thought that age character didn't match with his personality. So adventure onward it remained 15. Also, while it may not seem logical, Sonic is still 15 according to Black Knight. If you ask me that's how it should be. Sonic is best represented as a teen. We'll see if SEGA raises the age in Generations but for now he's still 15.

Ryan Drummond gaved Sonic an older voice when he first started in Sonic Adventure and then he highten his pitch in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes.

The same thing could be said about the other characters as well. Knuckles doesn't sound like he's 16, he sounds more like he's in his 30's now and Tails doesn't even sounds like he's 8. I think he gives Sonic a whole lot of attitude, moreso then every single voice actor he had in the games he ever had and it reminds me so much of how Sonic used to be portrayed back in the 90's. Jason wasn't really good and he made Sonic sound like a dork when he first started

It's not really such a poor choice that's during the last 5 years that's all people seem to complain about is the voice actors in the games. Sega hired talented voice actors who has way more experience in voice acting. I like all of Sonic's previous voice actors (expect for the OVA) but I think Roger does a better job cause he can deliver his lines so much better and it's his first game anyway so he can still improve

The people who don't like 4kids and wanted the old actors back was and they the ones went went apeshit with all the petitions and the boycotts over voice actors. I haven't done that cause I think it's stupid and pointless.

I have no problem with the other new voices except for Amy. I was hoping that they made her sound more likeable not even more annoying. I'll still give her voice actor a chance however, maybe she and the other voice actors will improve in Generations.

@sonicfan1984 Same here, Amy is now the first video game character to ever make my ears bleed and trust me that's quite pathetic judging by how many different games I play XD. The rest of the cast is tolerable just not preferred in my opinion. Even if the voices don't improve it doesn't really matter to me as long as the game is good, which Generations is pulling off well at this point.
