I was a kid when people used to praise Lata's voice in singing, but now living in overseas as my knowledge has expanded, I understand the meaning of the song of lyrics as it's translated in English(not to say that I don't understand Hindi. I do understand Hindi but the lyrics was tough to understand sometimes exactly). I feel like I could cry aloud in sadness of being far away from my home. Everyone has their own story to share with songs so the song has multiple emotions. Just Divine in song.
I believe that those who disliked this video must have either language problem, or maybe they are teenagers who always get nowhere than risking their time with bloody music. I am thankful to the people who liked this song. Lata is another name of Saraswati. She sang since my grandfather's generation, and she will probably sing till my son's generation. Yara sili sili is marvelous song and I salute you Lataji. Back in 1999 when I was working in Dallas in a grocery store, there was an old stereo deck. One day I bought one audio cassesste of Lataji. Once this song Yara sili was played, all the ladies customers gathered near the counter. One such lady would request me to rewind this song for her 2 times which I did. @paki874 I've heard and seen Noor Jehan perform on tv. She is very attractive and glamourous. Her voice is totally different to Lata and which means both are suited to certain types of songs. I was just watching a tribute to Reshma with Atif Aslam and Shehzad Roy singing her songs. I loved Shehzad Roy's performance and starting listening to his songs. I have become a big fan of his now. The guy is absolutely brilliant, love his voice. Oh and yes We Mein Chori Chori is a killer song.

I heard of Lata but this is the first time I've seen her. Boy is she ugly or what? As for the song, Indians always copying Pakistani old songs, so not surprised. I doubt very much Lata wrote this version of Reshma's song herself, more likely to be the song writers for whatever the film was. She just sang it. Sounds like a child singing sometimes. Noor Jahan had her own style and so has Reshma. They all unique in their own way.

Its amazing how humble she is, i was surprised by the way she bowed to her audience after the song ends. I cant see any 'modern' singers doing the same and she is a million times better than them.

Yara sili sili is marvelous song and I salute you Lataji. Back in 1999 when I was working in Dallas in a grocery store, there was an old stereo deck. One day I bought one audio cassesste of Lataji. Once this song Yara sili was played, all the ladies customers gathered near the counter. One such lady would request me to rewind this song for her 2 times which I did. The fact is Pakistan should have international copyright laws cos these people are making money out of their music/songs. @paki874 I've heard and seen Noor Jehan perform on tv. She is very attractive and glamourous. Her voice is totally different to Lata and which means both are suited to certain types of songs. I was just watching a tribute to Reshma with Atif Aslam and Shehzad Roy singing her songs. I loved Shehzad Roy's performance and starting listening to his songs. I have become a big fan of his now. The guy is absolutely brilliant, love his voice. Oh and yes We Mein Chori Chori is a killer song.

If your song writers didn't listen to them then how come they manage to copy word for word. I heard of Lata but this is the first time I've seen her. Boy is she ugly or what? As for the song, Indians always copying Pakistani old songs, so not surprised. I doubt very much Lata wrote this version of Reshma's song herself, more likely to be the song writers for whatever the film was. She just sang it. Sounds like a child singing sometimes. Noor Jahan had her own style and so has Reshma. They all unique in their own way.

@fromnairobi1 I agree with you here that no two artists can be compared. Each provides his/her own individuality in voice. NoorJehan is a great singer but some say she destroyed her vocal chords accidently so her voice became more low pitched more suitable for Punjabi songs.
