I believe the point he was trying to make was that these dogs, be they Husky or Laikas, are not effective specifically in the capacity of hunting boar. I'd have to agree, seeing their inability to land a clean bite on the boar. I'm sure they're useful against bears. However, catching and holding boar is a different game than coursing and effectively tiring a bear. There's a reason the bull breeds are used for boar. It's because they're the best at it.

Their working style may be different, but it works. They are also made to work and live in arctic inviroment; how long do you think a bull breed dog would last in Russia, sleeping nights outside and hunting for hours in deep snow, when it's REALLY cold outside?

For example, the weather is one reason why finnish army use almost only german shepherds, cause they are able to live and work in Finland through the winter. Dobermanns etc. just wont last! I won't comment on Laikas as a breed because I've no experience w/ them. However, the dogs in this vid are quite useless on boar, regardless of "working style. lol.
