You can tell this player is not very good - anyone who gets to these higher levels without cheating and using one credit is always absolutely seamless in their game play.

I remember watching this guy play in the arcade in 1985 who would always reach level 17 or higher on his first man - insane to watch - every move absolutely perfect.

Rygar was a really good game and still is. 1986 it was released by Atari and Techmo. Rygar was an epic strange haunting monsters/demons. The creators/Producers :) Must of had a haunting imagination. This game is based on The holy Bible no doubt.

i noticed that too. because he has 4 of the the 5 power up but the arent showing on the bottom. i know because one of the power ups lets you kill enemies by jumping on top of them otherwise you would just stun them.

Rygar was one of those rare exceptions for video games -- the home version was much better than the arcade version. Comparing apples to oranges of course, adventure versus action, but still....

I thought you get the bonus croos only in stage 13, but certainly he played in a cheat mode, you can see it eg. when he jump on and kill the enemies, you need a symbol to do that. But he has skills indeed

On the end of the stages, you see different statues in the middle. Every stage that has a picture of the cross has one. You might be thinking of that 1 million point flag. Anyways, whenever you see that red/white question mark come out of a stone you hit, keep hitting that question mark with your weapon. it will keep changing objects and eventually turn into the cross. While doing that, mind the enemies.

This is the arcade version of Rygar. Best thing to do is find a MAME emulator and get the rom...I doubt you'll actually find this game in the arcade...its probably rare.

Amazing game... and emulator (MAME)... and, amazing CHEATS you're using... Low score... many lives... you get the powerups without the corresponding symbol on the five boxes downscreen and, in the first moments of your 'movie', you get blasted by an fireball and do not die... Shame... in the eighties, me and a friend were able to finish the real arcade game... and, we used about 8 coins... now, it's easy... So... actually, you didn't beat the game... you cheater ;-)

I remember this game back when I was a little kid at a church in California. Unfortunately, the game almost always malfunctioned. One notable bug that happened during play were the foreground objects suddenly took a white shade. Sometimes, the foreground activity was such that you couldn't see anything.

I think the malfunction was due to a problematic installation of the board in the cabinet. That particular example appeared to have been installed from a kit.
