Nice fish mate, although I belive it's a hybrid between a common and a koi so you could say it's not a natural native fish in that stretch of water.

I hear that those Kois grow faster and produce more offspring than the already terrible common carp. These things actually destroy lakes, and when its easiest to catch a carp they can become quiet a hassel. I land these things every time i go fishing, and I usually think that I had hooked into somthing big. So there is a reasoning to Koi laws, even though I wouldnt eat the fish for obvious reasons, some people will and theres many hungry out there. Get rid of em

Dont be stupid Natalie, thousands of koi live in canals and rivers and lakes all over the country, most get to these places in flood or ive seen even in some cases released into a local canal of mine as they just purchased the house and wasnt bothered about koi or the pond, also koi are no more at threat than a natural sized roach in a canal as far as pike are concerned.
