@DaveWollenberg It's so bizarre how you say you're 48 and never cared for coffee. I'm also 48 and never cared for coffee. I'm a tea drinker and glad to say it's never give'n me a headache!
Thanx for slowin' it down. I'd always wondered what Shorty said. How were ya able to slow Shorty's sped-up voice. Please tell me. Thanx for yer hard work with it!
This is just the weirdest technical job I've ever seen. Everything's wrong with Mel's approach, even the recording is terrible. Sounds like what happens right before cartoonists are fired.
@powergirl901 .... you do know that this is a version someone made on their computer with the little rabbit's parts slowed down, right? This is not the original version.
Pete Puma's "voice" was inspired by the great comedian Frankie Fontaine (The Jackie Gleason show, Crazy Guggenhein at the "Joe's Bar" skits that Gleason did.
@TEMPmichaelhansen - Actually, he did the voice for Pete Puma - And by the way, he was a friend of Frank Fontaine's. So you heard parts of the 'Crazy Guggenheim' characterization in there.
@MrYaridovich ....that's just extra audio to fill out the length of the animation. They figured nobody would ever try to slow it down in the future, anyway... lol
Aw, this is SO COOL! Thanks for posting this! It's great to finally be able to understand this and hear Mel's distinctive voice! Very cool! If you'd like to see some funny cartoons, please check out my channel, won't you? Pretty please?
This is very interesting. Sounds a bit like Mel's Daffy or Sylvester. BTW, the DVD on this cartoon gives the dialogue on the young rabbit through the English subtitles.
Regarding the voices, according to Wikipedia, they are Mel Blanc, as usual, doing the voice of Bugs Bunny, as well as his companion Shorty, while Stan Freberg voiced Bugs' nemesis Pete Puma.
I haven't seen this cartoon in years! "How many lumps do you want" "Three or Four." "Wait a minute Mrs. Rabbit" "I don't want no tea" "How about coffee" I've been hearing those lines in my head ever since I first saw it as a lad.
Sounds Like Daffy Duck.

Noce to see that someone slowed down Shorty's lines. Too bad he only appeared once. He was an interesting character.

@TEMPmichaelhansen He did Pete in this one. Stan goes back a long ways. Back to the early days of TV with Daws Butler and Beanie and Cecil.
