La pronuncia è quella che è, il testo talvolta fa sorridere, ma l'arrangiamento mi piace tantissimo, proprio coinvolgente.

Non ho idea di chi fossero i musicisti ma non mi stupirei di trovare qualche nome ben conosciuto negli States.

era un professionista vero, con quanta costanza ando' a studiare l'inglese, il francese, il tedesco, lo spagnolo: se glielo avessero chiesto non avrebbe avuto problemi a cantare nemmeno in greco o in swahili...se pensiamo che abbiamo cantanti strapagati che non sanno manco l'italiano...

E la canzone del sole in inglese passo' inosservata negli USA, ma non per questa brutta.

ha ok so not a funny subject but i'm doing a presentation on the hillside strangler case from 1977 and i was looking for a song that would suit the video and well...these lyrics can definitely work. XD

This is poorly translated ... it has lost all the surreal staccato quality of the Italian lyrics ... the Italian version says "Black sea, black sea, you were as clear and transparent as me"... but it's translated as "Oh sad Old Ocean" !! They really screwed Lucio.. He sings with an accent, it makes it unconvincing to an English audience He should have got someone else to sing it.. . In English this song sounds like MOR Pop and in Italian it's revolutionary - what a cock-up.

non so se e l`accento di battisti o chi ha scritto le parole ma questa canzone in inglese non fa giustizia a quella in Italiano povero battisti scommetto che non ha dormito per parecchie notti.

Guarda, io conosco l'inglese bene e mi sento di affermare che il testo inglese ha poco da invidiare a quello italiano.E' anch'esso poetico e delicato come le parole che ha scritto Mogol e riesce a creare nella testa dell'ascoltatore delle immagini, come le biciclette abbandonate sopra il prato e poi noi 2 distesi all'ombra.....solo che il fiore non è in bocca ma ci sono dei fiori nelle pagine di un libro nella versione inglese.

il testo sarà anche curato bene. ma resta il fatto che la canzone nel suo insieme arrangiata in inglese, probabilmente non ha le stesse potenzialità di quella originale.

The translation is awful - it's like night and day - the original surreal imagery has been completely lost... from "black sea" to "sad old ocean" - it's an absolute dilution of the original - in fact there is no comparison between the two - I've never seen such an awful translation - and Battisti's singing is just awful - he obviously doesn't know English very well since he sings with an accent... the whole things was a disaster - they really fowled him up

It's not untranslatable... it's just been done very poorly... instead of translating "black sea" - which has connotation of racism in English - they have translated it as sad old ocean - "triste vecchio mare" - and the singing is just as bad, because Lucio doesn't have the same emotional vocal control in English - he sounds awful - it's an all round disaster...
