There was an attempt at an american version of this series.I remember it was called On The Rocks.It only ran for thirteen episodes.Flecther's character was played by Jose Perez and was named Fuentes.This is the first time seeing this version.The english slang is hard to understand but I do get most of the humor.

Porridge was another great classic sitcom made by the BBC and another comic creation brought to life by the late, great Ronnie Barker.

We were never told what had happened to Brian Glover's character of Cyril Heslop as the character never returned for series 2.
