  • Do you build up customer engines? I have a 302 that only get's 215~ horsepower and I want the most you can get out of it.

  • please try to talk with a more anoying accent!

  • price and location?

  • its not a bunch of coffee, if you have ever stood my a engine on a dyno it gives you that fealing, you start shaking with adrenalin well atleast i do lol

  • @koriyoaustin Does sound great, but who cares? You can always throw some $50 mufflers on there or go the red neck way and chop those suckers off!!! Or should I call em blowers!!! HA!!!!

  • doug can have as many cups of coffee as he wants, cause it helps him build a bad ass motor, every motor he has built have been amazing.

  • awesome

  • jersey

  • Forgive me for asking this, but why only 380 hp? What was limiting you?

  • @beepandbop customers price maybe?

  • ahh! a holley! I see you DO know to use a holley when your trying to make power!

  • @Looptydude, the 260 had a smaller bore or stroke... idk, the 289 & 302 had the same block but different stroke, the 351 windsor had a little bit bigger block but they all shared the same characteristics.

  • @03bayouboy Yeah, the 351 has a taller deck height. 351 engine is slightly wider than 302/289/260/221. & the 260 had a smaller 3.8" bore, as the 3.5" 221. I built a 260 with a 302 crank. That = 272. The 221/260/289 = 2.87" stroke. The 302 = 3.0" stroke. Maximum stroke for the 289/302 block is about 3.3". Beyond that the crank throws will hit the block. Maximum size Ford SB is 4.03 X 3.33 = 340 cu. in. using this formula: bore x bore x # of cylinders x .7854 x stroke = cu. in.

  • friend can tell me which of these series flowmaster?

  • 40's

  • The ones hanging on the wall? yup, 40's. They sound bad ass. I love em.

Hey crateengines, can u confirm this?

  • flowmaster serie ???

  • Doug...how mant cups of coffee DID you have before fillming this?? LMAO!

  • never ask a mechanic how many cups of coffee he has had lol

  • @Toofastkidd HA!!

  • Great stuff! I've seen your website and your company comes across as someone I would want to do business with.

It seems to me the Ford sounds the best of all of the small blocks. Maybe part of it is the firing order. Is there a concencus among your employees regarding their favorite sounding engines?

  • damn 380hp...My build should be pretty close to that even with stock heads...(ported obvisously)

  • The 255/289/302/351 are all the same engine with different deck heights. All the heads are interchangeable, just like the 4.6 and 5.4 modular motors.

  • will it fit in my BMW 316 Compact ? xD

  • I like 351s better for ford engines

  • I have a 93 f150 5.0 with the 302 mine has over 250k miles and still runs perfect. never redone

  • 302 in my 93 f150. 136k still goin good

  • I agree. I have a 71 with 167K miles & its never been touched. Great motors.

  • another forum member i see.

  • Yessir, This fella builds some nice motors.

  • The problem Im having is not the engine. But finding quality headers for a 1972 Mercury Comet with a 4 speed.

  • damn straight. early windsors where the best

  • I have a 302 in my '74 Ford Gran Torino Sport with over 130,000 on it, still going strong. Great engine.

  • the 302 is a really good motor. have one in our 88 F150 with 218,000 miles with no rebuild what so ever. not even touched

  • the ford straight six is a really good one too

  • i came close to getting one. them things will run forever

  • yep

  • The best sounding motor Ford ever built!!

  • sounds strong!

  • Thanks much, I appreciate the info...I have made notes on it.

  • OK, I need to remove the stock 302 from my F-150 and put this monster in there!

  • you dont want a 302 in your truck - too heavy a vehicle - try a 408 351w stroker.

  • Yes, if I could afford it...

  • i GOT A OLD LINCOLN CONTINENTAL AND ITS HEVY AND IT HAS A 460 BIG BLOCK BUT THE GAS PRICE IS HIGH WOULD A 302 BE OKAY FOR IT!

  • ur 460 if its running gud it get about 10 11 mpgs right well my 302 in my ranger gets about 14 so id keep the biger block lol but im going to i got both llol ha lol

  • yeah im going to buy a new 460 block becouse my piston rod broke and dameged the block so need a new one!

  • kewl kewl i wish my 302 in the ranger had about 400 + hp loll

  • its possible 302s are good engins!! but if you want to bett any one in the road put a 351 in your ranger that would be awsome becouse rangers a light waght!!

  • i would but the 302 barly fits a 351 is about 6 inches longer and 7 1/2 taller idk if it fit lol but no dont be dawgin it the new mustangs and all them lil ricers and the new chevy trucks lol leave em seating lol with about 307 hp lol its bone stock plum down to the spark plug wires lol
