How did you get this to load so well? I have the Vixia HF100, which is HD and am using Magix Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus, which is attached to my YouTube account. When I upload a video, it is completely degraded. So how did you do this and what format does your camera use?
The vixia HF-100 has a slightly smaller lens along with a few more watered down stuff compared to the HF-S10 which is newer. but the quality shouldn't be that different. Never used the software your using (i'm using FCP) but convert the video into H.264 at 1080 by 1920 resolution, give youtube a few hours to process and theres your video in 1080 HD!
Thank you for posting, was looking at purchasing this camera and the footage looks great even on here, I can only imagine the real thing at this point. :)
i just got the s10 yesterday. the s10 is much better for the price. the s11 has a little bit better image stabilization, but its like 200 dollars more. over all, the s10 is a much smarter buy.
image stabilization is making the videos you record less shaky. both the s10 and the s11 have great image stabilization, but the s11's is a little bit better. the s10 definitely has good stabilization and i think its not worth the extra money for the s11.
Canon Vixia HF S10 does not have good image stabilization. I own it and only problem that this camera has is stabilization. Sony has much better one. HF S11 has improved it but people say Sony still does it far better. Sony HDR-XR520V even has better low light performance but Canon has m ore manual options and 30p and 24p. So, for tourist Sony is better, for advanced shooter and film maker Canon is better.
Mainly for video, but for the 200 dollars more that Maxson is talking about for the FS11, you may as well get yourself a steadycam and avoid altogether the jerkiness of hand-held shooting. :)
both video and audio quality with this camcorder is AMAZING i was not expecting it to be this good, and on YOUTUBE where they usually make vids look worse than they actually are. this camcorder is a definite possibility for me, simply awesome :) THANK YOU
Why all pictures from hd cameras shake and twitching if you move camera?????????? I dont see any hd camera which have smooth picture in motion!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is awsome.. what a beautiful quality.. i am going to buy this camcorder. i can see the difference between this and the 2.3 megapixel vixia hf10..
Can you do me a favor and let me know what export settings you used when sending this video to you tube? I have tried just about everything out there and my videos still look so so. Thank you.
Great Vid. Picture Quality looks awesome! I'm looking to buy this camera but I wanted to know a few things:
Q1: Does it have the "Time Lapse" recording feature? I would like to record sunsets, sunrises, etc.
Q2: Does it have the "Slow Motion" capture feature? And if so, does can it record in HD? I would love to use it for to record myself swinging the golf stix.
Technically it can be made for some nice TimeLapse stuff even though it's not made for it, I have a 32 gig HF11 and I love it. Setting the resolution on high (getting the best quality) and everything else on low, you can get quite a bit of footage, around 12 hours on the built in hard drive. I just tried some this morning but since I had a time crunch and a space crunch I couldn't pull it in and had to delete it. But I did get a preview of what it would do and I was very satisfied.
i read a review on Canon's website, says one of several cons to this is poor sound quality =[ if it has a jack for an external mic that would compensate

The only way to avoid this is with Film my friend, still the best quality in motion as it is not compressed at a high rate.

Hi, how much flash memory did you put in it and how much can you record on it?

With a 32GB card, it records for 12 hours on LP, or 3 hours at full HD resolution.

MSRP is $1299, though the HFS-100 is a couple of hundred dollars cheaper and otherwise identical except for the lack of built-in flash memory.
