you can buy neons that have a built in transistor that pulse with vibrations. i have them all through my car. but they pick up every type of sound

super easy to do twist the neon strips (its what there called) togeather with speaker wire and run it back to an ampilfer if you have subs and put them in the + and - in the amplifer and the lights go with the beat of the music

ya you can get them at auto zone for like about 30 bucks i think and they pulse to the music exactly like this, and they plug right into the cigarette lighter. I was going to get them but i found something better.

Well it has a sensor that came with the package. I had a shop put it together. its a sensor that picture up on the vibrations from the speakers you can adjust the sensitivity of it as well as change the color.

i have a cigarrette lighter thing in my center console so i got this thing its like a splitter where you can hook multiple things to that one lighter and then i just ran the wire down my floor board and put the lights under my seat

I know I've said I havent owned the car in a long time and I just started reading though all the comments, but I'll post up more pictures of how its set up and for one it wasnt hooked up through the Cigarette lighter. They used a toggle switch that routed to the fuse box and I dont remember exactly where they were drawing the power from, but I do know they didnt use the cigarette housing.
